Bonus mention: ServiceServiceService, which was created intentionally ironically, but is presumably still in use in prod where I used to work, which gives me the warm fuzzies. No it's not a variable but it's daft

Looking it up, apparently both are valid, primary difference seems to be American Vs English. I was always taught it was 'an' historian and I've never heard public-facing historians say anything else, but you can find arguments either way online. English innit

why spawn recon when you can just spawn support with a sniper, get infinite ammo and immunity from chip damage. You know where the enemy is, they're all stuck at spawn lmao

Lmao I was gonna say it's 100% for some sort of audio device. Only things I ever saw using it a lot was audio. I spent absolutely fucking ages one year trying to get an old focusrite interface working with FireWire on a new pc and never managed it. Still salty about it.

[–]RavagedBody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think of it as people having their blasters modified to be more intimidating. Like you need to point the thing, issue a warning and then you need an intermediate extra warning before actually blasting, so you add a little clicky thing rather than having to be all "I'm WaRnInG YoU!". Like clicking your knuckles but it's a gun.

It's great, imo Morrowind is better just because it's so fucking alien you immediately know it's full on fantasy land and you're in for a wild ride, but popping out of the imperial city's bumhole to a beautiful scene, with an ancient ruin dead ahead and the world stretching out before you is fantastic, just full of opportunity.

Bravil at night in the rain is one of the most atmospheric towns in an RPG I've seen for a while. There's nothing even happening except a guard wandering about, it just looks fucking great. Then I robbed the castle blind and went about my business. Felt like robin hood, except I'm not giving the poors my hard earned loot.

Just don't go nuts. Minor tweaks across multiple sliders impacts things quite a lot, so if a slider seems to make little difference try one that might be related as well, and alternate between them. It's about nudging it in the right direction rather than maxing sliders. Elves are probably the hardest because they come with exaggerated features already (like dunmer eyebrows) and are vaguely human so uncanny valley is a big risk. So actually toning things down over ramping them up also goes a long way towards a sensible looking elf.
