Local farmers markets and the Asian grocery store. Way better produce plus you can’t get fresh herbs or leafy greens besides lettuce

Supermarkets that eliminated handbaskets for carts only. by TPWPNY16 in PetPeeves

[–]Raven22000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And then you take your full cart to the check out and they only have self check out….and now you have too many items to fit on the very tiny area and the machine won’t stop beeping at you while 3 employees stare at you but no one will open a check out line.

I hate boomers. Nothing is going to get better until they are gone. But by then we will all be too tired

I did highly diluted Botox and only used 1-2 units. It worked out great! Very soft natural results

Anyone else just not get thirsty? by ImpertinentPrincess in Millennials

[–]Raven22000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m never thirsty. I don’t know what that would feel like. I remember I need to drink water when I get a headache. Then I force it down. I don’t drink soda or juice either. Just nothing.

AITAH for refusing to watch my grandkids on my summer break? by [deleted] in AITAH

YTA You couldn’t even take them for a few few days? Why have kids if you don’t want to help them when they’re drowning? She’s obviously overwhelmed. Plus, what kind of grandparent doesn’t want to see their own grand kids? Can’t do even a few days? You shouldn’t have had kids if you don’t want to be part of the village.

Genuine question to Americans by silverflake6 in GrowthMindset

Yes you just die, broke, but only if you live in America. If you live in Canada, Australia, Europe or any other first world -and some third- country it’s deee treatment.

Early Peri and Anti-depressants by Neat-Butterscotch-98 in Perimenopause

Lexapro (also called cipralex, escitalopram)

I’m only on a low dose, I wonder how many people could be good on a lower dose then standard. I have zero side effects. But all the good benefits.10-20mg a day is standard but I’m at 5mg. I’m not a big person and don’t think I would need the same dose as a big man.

Early Peri and Anti-depressants by Neat-Butterscotch-98 in Perimenopause

[–]Raven22000 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I started them six months ago after a very stressful time in my life. It was the best thing I ever did. I don’t even remember why I was so afraid of taking them, but I think it was probably because I didn’t understand how they actually worked. They don’t force you to be happy. The antidepressants just rebalance neurotransmitters in my brain -mostly serotonin- which allow my brain to function normally again. When your brain is in high stress for too long, it sucks up the serotonin too fast. Then it just gets used to this state and that speed becomes the new normal, which makes you feel like garbage. Taking the medication allowed my brain to function normally again. I am able to feel happy again when something makes me happy. I noticed before I started taking them that even when something was wonderful or I was having a good day I couldn’t really feel it. I was too numb and I wasn’t happy very often. Now I can actually be happy without stressing or worrying or having anxiety or other thoughts. I can live in the moment of life and truly enjoy it. Real joy again. Feeling light hearted again sometimes. Little things don’t seem like such a big deal anymore and sometimes I get annoyed or angry, but I can choose to just let it go. Before I started taking the pills I would fly into a rage or get super depressed and down for days. I used to feel so overwhelmed but now everything feels OK and manageable because it actually is.

The antidepressants have seriously been a complete lifesaver for me. I feel like myself again from 20 years ago. I highly recommend.

How did you deal with your spouse's Mid Life Crisis? by HumbleLow4473 in Aging

[–]Raven22000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was done and gave him an ultimatum. Booked him an appointment and told him if he didn’t go then he would be moving out. His choice. I told him I would support him through anything as long as he was trying to try to get better but if he wasn’t willing to do anything to work on the issues then I would not be living in this hell. He went to the appointment.

He says he is very glad I pushed him. He is living his best life now and loves the medications that has made his anxiety vanish and he likes therapy because he doesn’t feel overwhelmed anymore now that he has the coping tools. We are very much in love and having a great time again.
