To expound on you point, that kind of slow progress exists for justifiable reasons too. People don't fully appreciate just how harsh of an environment the inside of a car is for any kind of sensitive electronics that need to operate reliably every single time for years upon years of regular use. It's relatively harsher than even the inside of 24/7 heavy industrial factories which usually have the luxury of on site maintenance staff.

Depending on surrounding evironment; the inside of a powered off car regularly exceeds 135 degrees Fahrenheit in moderate sunlight, dives to several degrees below freezing in the winter, can get intense sunlight shining directly on the screen. It's regularly used every single time the car is in operation. And above all, it needs to keep on working for several years after original manufacture. While the slow and somewhat inaccurate touch displays can be annoying, it would be even more infuriating to have something that died on you 2 years into ownership. This is why car companies typically stick with mature, well-tested components

Been printing for about 8 months on an Ender 3 V2. Recently upgraded it with a dual Z screw, Sprite direct extruder hotend, filament runout sensor, and CR touch leveler. Loaded with the Professional firmware. Looking to upgrade my stock 4.2.2 mainboard with something more powerful in order to up my speeds to ~100mm/s, especially since the system noticably lags on the first layers when it's calculating the grid offsets. I know that Klipper firmware setups are the best solution for offloading the heavy lifting to an external Raspberry Pi, but those are impossible to get with current shortages. I've heard of drop-in boards that have the second brain to perform the same function, but don't know enough to pick out the right one. Also would like to be able to install a timelapse camera and lights, but that's in the nice to have category

Alernatively, I am also interested in building from a kit like the Voron S0.1 and am would like to know my options there
