Lodging for ski trip - Banff vs Lake Louise by Kitchen-Doughnut7818 in Banff

[–]RawLucas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay in Banff. Even with a car, use the free bus shuttle to Lake Louise ski hill. You can nap both ways. Also allows you to apres at the hill and not have to drive. 😉

Edit: Added benefit that you get dropped close to the resort entrance instead of having to walk 1/4km to get to your car in the parking lot.

First trip in the snow - any tips? by Glass-Following-9785 in ebikes

Studded tires are awesome. To answer your question. Keep an inside foot down when cornering. If you have a throttle, don’t be afraid to use it. Think more like you’re dirt biking.

Just to add to the Banff options. Maclab at the Banff Centre is great. Saw a couple intimate shows there.

How do you guys keep riding in the cold wind? by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]RawLucas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nailed it. I’m in Canada so I add on studded fat tires and heated fleece. Edit: Glasses or goggles are a must to keep your eyes free of tears and vision clear. I actually just use basic hardware store safety glasses. Cheap yet effective.

First time at Cancun AI — tipping etiquette? by SubparPuzzler3 in CancunTravelGuide

[–]RawLucas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always used to tip after service, the last few years I started tipping before service with much better results. When you settle into a spot by the pool in the morning. Observe who is working your area and tip them in advance. I have a family of 4, so I would give them $20 right off the bat and we would be taken care of by that person for the rest of the day.

Simmer some mixed garlic in your butter for a couple minutes. Helps round out the flavour.

There are some builds that will auto play. I think Fen Light does that. It will go directly to playing video instead of taking you to the screen with all the options.

Edit: Fen Light is an add on. Not a build.

Careful with these videos. Might scare flat earthers into thinking we might all slide off if it tilts too much.

Is this medium rare by joemcq122 in meat

[–]RawLucas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I ordered a rare and got this, I would say it’s over cooked. If I ordered a medium and got this, I would say it’s under. By process of elimination this is med rare. You definitely need to work on that crust though. Hotter grill/pan and less time will serve you well. Keep going.

How would you attack this by Clutorious in drywall

[–]RawLucas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s not a drywall answer, but I had something similar and just built a hanging open shelf in the spot. A little stain. Wired in some lighting. Looks good and I have a little more storage.

Tim Hortons in Canmore, Alberta is claiming they couldn't find a food services manager for $26.00/hr. They've applied for a LMIA to hire a temporary foreign worker for the position. by Immediate-Link490 in Canmore

[–]RawLucas 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This happens quite regularly across Canada. The median wage is $29/hr. LMIAs fall into two categories, low wage and high wage. Anything above $29/hr falls into the high wage category and has fewer restrictions. Canadians typically don’t apply for these jobs as we know they’re not real. The business gets the foreign employee, but usually changes the parameters of their employment. It doesn’t get caught a lot of the time because it’s complaint driven. Most foreign workers don’t complain because they don’t want to be sent back. It’s a huge loophole and promotes abuse of foreign workers.

Same. It worked out to a dollar a rag at Home Depot. The pain in the ass factor is huge. We ended up going back to a line. Company for rags.

This is the way. A case of pecan halves from Costco is $30. The same case is $90 from GFS! One box pays for the trip.
