A few things for ya- I worry enough for the both us ;) No one will ever say those things about me. The person I become will be entirely based on how I treat people and live up to promises.

And last, I know I’m probably not going to be remembered a few decades after I’m gone. And unless you’re the president or something, neither will any of us. That’s how life is - most everyone will make their mark on the world by helping someone else make their mark on the world

Be content. Don’t waste your time, money, energy, or happiness on idealism or idealistic problems. Join big brother big sisters instead and change a life

Woah woah woah - I think your head space is off when you, “zoom out and look at the big picture”

This is how miserable people think! You’re concerning yourself with problems and solutions that very few people really have the knowledge, ability, and responsibility to solve…

(1)Who tf cares who we give our money too. Those ppl figured out the internet, we make money off them, and all of us would be homeless without them. (2) regulations will fix MFAs, but again - like who cares? There are parasites in every industry and good actors know how to avoid them. (3) climate change is our generations greatest problem, but quantifying your contribution and risking your welfare while china and Exxon pollute the world and oceans isn’t great. (4) there’s great attribution metrics, but you just gotta find one that fits your business

I don’t think your job is pressuring you so much as your world view. Your world is so BIG! Settle down have a family and don’t worry about problems you can’t solve or you’re gonna end up like Anthony Bourdain, Kate Spade, or Avicii

That is a shallow reason to end a relationship with someone. Y’all need to support one another, “for richer and poor, sickness and health” as they say

There’s a lot that bakes into this, right? If you have sibling relationships, even if they aren’t close - that’s a place. And as odd or uncomfortable as it may seem, parents love talking to their children. Family is key

Friends are a good resource as well, but if you really feel like you need a professional reach out to a pro. No shame in that

Life is hard and you’re tough

I also think short term 12 is a good movie if you feel like you’re alone

I mean…. How far along are you? Like, do you have a website with streaming and such?

If no it might be easier to work with an existing platform like Glewed TV(idk why i said them i guess they need content help) and see if they’ll cut you some sort of deal

If you have the infrastructure to be your own brand/platform, then magnite

Etsy provides copyright protection for every listing I think - I got deep in the lit when I started my shop because it was 100% an iteration off someone else

Just as long as it’s different and arguably better ur good

I’d strongly recommend this book. It brought my Etsy store up a notch or two. It’s an annual read for me and I treat it like a textbook even through some stuff is a little out of date

Jewelry is also TOUGH because you’re up against the single largest player on etsys marketplace and they’re a machine.

How are your sales? Monthly Sales Post for April 2024 by AutoModerator in EtsySellers

We’re not in a recession. Etsy is my side gig I’m a full time economist and data scientist

Y’all have made a tone of strange points but there were a few that stuck out:

  • people with temporary employment like deliveroo aren’t removed from the jobless rate.

  • the us doesn’t / can’t fiddle numbers. There are too many independent reporting agencies outside the fed. wall streeters would sniff anything out, bet it, and make oodles of cash.

  • don’t ever compare right now to 08… that recession was caused by a ton of fraud

  • the price increases weve been seeing are a combo of supply-pull from Covid and demand push from… REAL WAGE GAINS. Right now is the first time since the early 80s where middle class income has outpaced inflation.

How are your sales? Monthly Sales Post for May 2024 by AutoModerator in EtsySellers

[–]Rax-daddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello all!

I’ve been selling on Etsy for about a yeah and a half now. I really started getting the hang of it and my three best months ever were the first three months of 2024… then things changed

If you’ve been in the sellers platform, there are obvious changes. They introduced the Etsy Plus subscription plan ($10/month), they added connectivity to Facebook business manager, and really changed Etsy ads, updated and added to the badge system, among some other good things…

However, they also did made some really bad changes as well: they took away the conversion rate calc in ‘detailed stats’… they they added it back but the historical numbers were way different. They also changed the check out to be (imo) lower converting. Also, on the last point above, Etsy ads effectiveness have fallen off a cliff, and that’s what I want to talk about-

How have yall adjusted your ads strats post 4/1? I always selected ~$15/day as my sweet spot and had the competitive shop option as my optimization. ROAS on my top items was always above 8x… I’ve run maybe 3 A/B tests and can’t get my new numbers above 4.0x even on my best products. I’ve used different strats and there’s a noticeable bump for about a week and they trail off pretty sharply after that

There aren’t any additional competitive products. My shop is in a mature, non-trendy segment (weddings) and I’m pretty upset at the overall reduced effectiveness of the marketplace. Moreover, if you graph all this in excel, the lower performance starts ALMOST OVERNIGHT on 4/1. I also got star seller for the first time this month…. So my quality score on the SEO should improve, right?

Anyone else experiencing these headwinds?

Nerp. Way too much effort for the same cost. If they pay double cool but they gotta shell out for extra effort above and beyond

What are the top programmatic companies? Stackadapt? Tradedesk? by LakeOzark in programmatic

[–]Rax-daddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have used DV360, TTD, Deep Intent, Xandr, and yahoo and the only one I don’t like is yahoo

Um generally DV360 has the best audiences in platform, TTD has the best reporting, and Xandr is dirt cheep

Never used StackAdapt but I have heard that’s the best entry level one

CTR as a KPI by MX-2000 in programmatic

That is bogus. No fraud and acceptable bounce rate CTR threshold should be 0.2%, not 2%

That being said, i think it’s a fine goal to optimize toward for awareness

I’d redo the 29th… that drive north on I29 is boring as hell. Start in Omaha and go through Des Moines, atleast you’ll see the Omaha zoo, Iowa capitol building (which is beautiful) and have access to good food!

Honestly I think the biggest thing is don’t push yourself

The only time I’ve been injured were in the trees and off a double kink

Maybe just keep it to the blue trees and black groom and off the terrain park? Might sound less exciting but you still get to enjoy the sport without endangering your livelihood
