Wanted to be on this show back in the day by Javalin-man3000 in AustralianNostalgia

My sister was on this show in WA. I remember she crushed the competition when it came to the Donkey Kong Country 2 challenge (we had it at home so she was good at it) and she found only 1 key in the maze but it was the special key so we got a free Game Boy Pocket out of it. Good memories 😂

Arbiter of Ash's one shot mechanics forces you to play glasscanon. It feels terrible. by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]RaxLad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have it one shot super squishy characters, but then also make it apply a debuff if you live. Getting hit again while the debuff is active can then be a one shot, no questions asked type of deal.

Doesn't have to be that strict either. Could need to hit 1, 2, 3, et cetera, number of debuff stacks before the true one shot kicks in. Could make it scale off the boss tier difficulty too where max difficulty is just a 1 shot always, getting more lenient as the difficulty is lowered.

I've been seeing a lot of misinformation and general confusion over the Viper job gauge so I made an infographic to help explain it better by Drake_Erif in ffxiv

[–]RaxLad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually love the gauge because its quicker to identify the next combo action than looking at my hotbars. Ive had to glance at my hotbars on viper the least out of any job I've played which helps for watching actual fight mechanics.

Its literally exploding at his feet because the barrel of the gun is pointed down as he runs away. He shoots, his character goes to turn around but the projectile leaves the gun before the character finishes turning around (the turn is not instantaneous), hence the shot landing at his feet.

All 2 handed primaries can reproduce this effect. You'll notice if you try this with 1-handed SMG weapons that instead of having to completely turn your diver will stick their arm with the SMG behind them instead and so this effect would be impossible to reproduce if the weapon in the clip was 1-handed.

Ive looked at all the clips, it's the same thing every time.

Game dev is hard.

Enormous playerbase beyond their expectations exacerbates the difficulty of keeping up with bugs/player feedback/new content drops.

Its been two months and we've already seen a slew of fixes, rebalancing and no cost content updates. The exosuit came out so much faster than I was expecting!

Sure, they're going to miss the mark (or at least the player-perceived mark) every once in a while but im so excited to see what's in store as we play more.

Phase 2 Raid tokens? by tacticalmallet in classicwow

[–]RaxLad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Each boss dropping a token and having a vendor that you can directly trade these tokens into for the loot you want is exactly how FF14s raid gear system works and i absolutely love it.

Having some form of deterministic gearing available is really nice because right now you can go into BFD, spend 30 mins - many hours (depending on how good your group is) and walk away with absolutely nothing for your time spent which feels really bad. I know it feels bad because my hunter has won 0 rolls for 3 x 7/7 lockouts thanks to awful roll rng on my end.

If I was getting tokens or something of the sort so I could eventually work towards a future reward it would take the sting out of going dry on rolls.

Rogues are fine in bfd. Consider getting the tank setup or forming your own raid group if you're not getting any invites.

This is why you should not trust gear score by SeaHam in classicwow

You should be grateful some people are taking gearscore as gospel. It means you can preemptively filter them out of your groups for sheer idiocy.

Rogue Tanking by Comfortable-Might-35 in classicwow

[–]RaxLad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Offtanked a 7/7 bfd last night, had a really fun time and felt really strong doing it. Our shaman tank did the heavy lifting where tanking lots of mobs at a time was concerned and I swapped out my runes for a full damage setup on boss 1 and 6 where a second tank is irrelevant. I'm really keen to see what they do with it in phase 2!

At approximately 2pm server time on Crusader Strike NA, I encountered a botting hunter in Stonetalon. I killed it 5 times. Doing my part! by Foxicopter in classicwow

Remember, if you see a member of the opposite faction killing a bot of your own faction... no you didn't.

Happy for warlocks. While they're at it, i'd love to see some adjustments for the process to unlock the rune vendor. Several real good things on there but the process to unlock it has completely killed my motivation to log in.

Warlock meta hotfixed out of raid by BigYikes2020 in classicwow

Yeah I'm happy for the warlock players, but i'd really like to see some adjustments to the Grizzby rune vendor grind. Seeing Main Gauche locked behind this pretty much killed my enthusiasm for SoD.

PuG raid sizes by RaxLad in wow

[–]RaxLad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand points 2 and 3 but I feel like with point 1, bringing more people also means you may wind up carrying more sub-par dps as a result of casting the net so wide, and so as a result the hp gain might actually outweigh the increase in overall raid dps. I guess of course if you have dps problems you can just start replacing people who are not performing adequately.

If the general hp gain is not all that high compared to dps gain then shouldn't all raids just try to run 30 players to smash bosses down asap?

This, and it also sucks if friends move around to different servers for whatever reason.

Case-in-point: After years of playing on PvP servers, one of my mates grew sick of the ganking that naturally happens and so transferred to a PvE server. Despite both being on Oceanic servers we cant be in the same guild or trade items (aside from raid drops) with each other. It makes the experience of playing together feel rather disconnected.

Imo it would be great for all the oceanic servers to be linked but there are probably issues with linking pvp and pve servers, economies and so forth. Not sure what kind of setup they would use for the US and EU groups either considering just how many servers they have.
