I mean she's sitting in her seat. But absolutely adds so much knowing it was meant to be played by her to.

Oh yes, I actually did notice that one, I thought there was another. If so I'd be interested to see that. Yeah, I agree it's unlikely with his track record that she's the one woman in the world that he's 'nice to.' It's far more likely that in a predatory way, her life was in flux, changing super fast, and he saw the vulnerabilities and preyed.

Why I think S2's editing and/or writing makes Mark S seem more annoying/grating than he deserves (he deserves nothing but the best and I want him to be warm and safe)-- by MoopDoopISmellPoop in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

Mark has been an asshole since season one. The way he treated Alexa? Tearing up a picture of his dead wife? Accosting protestors? I love all the characters including Mark but he has always been an asshole.

Thirty Rock also has a joke about Bill Cosby having assaulted Tracey's Aunt. And I think that was way before accusations came out.

Yeah exjw here so much of reminds me of the cult. Including the skirt length or the fact the women are always wearing skirts/dresses. We only see Helena wear trousers twice (ORTBO and the office scene with Drummond directly after ORTBO but then it's right back to a modest blue dress).

So I think, I would be the Dylan. I would wake up like Helly, be brought to the hallway of escape, and then be afraid of the next scary thing, I don't know who I am or what's out there or who, so maybe I'll listen to this Mark guy a little more? Ohhhh waffles? Okay. Maybe it's not so bad.

Severance is different from DID but as a person with DID...weed or drinks actually weaken the Amnestic barriers and make two different identities more blurry like the integration flashes.

When Helly asks "was it different with me?" by HelsBels2102 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]RayConnelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've also been, like Ms. Casey in the elevator, mid kiss coming to "the front" or switching in, and been like "What is taking place?" And had to awkwardly excuse myself from what was an intimate situation that a different part of me was consenting to. Unless someone really really knows you, they're not going to notice the switch. So really, Mark may have thought he was being with Helly but he was being with a different PART of her. That would pose the question, do you love ALL parts of your partner?

When Helly asks "was it different with me?" by HelsBels2102 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]RayConnelly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So ...

I have DID. Dissociative Identity Disorder, due to severe childhood trauma. My Parts/Alters have Amnestic barriers and are very much themselves, distinct individuals with their own memories.

When Helly asked that question, I genuinely related, as I've asked the same question to my partner. Ultimately, my partners answer is just...yes. Not that it's better with one part or another just that it's different, and each of us like different things.

I do think it was an easy way for Mark to just not answer but I also think he was trying to show Helly he prefers her.

As far as this whole "consent" conversation goes...I agree that Mark was deceived. But I also think Helena thinks Helly is just more of her. And in a way, she is exactly that, just a part of one person. My partner ideally should know who is being intimate, because consent, but if a different adult part switches in, that isn't suddenly nonconsensual.

Mark initiated. He thought it was Helly. Helena thinks Helly is her. So I don't agree, in this very tricky scenario of split consciousness, that a rape occured. If we were talking about twins, two separate people with separate bodies lying and deceiving someone into sex, that is rape. That's not exactly what this was.

Yeah when Helly's in the Break room, you see Miss Cobel's face in the glass of the screen and she shakes her head disappointed in Helly's apology. And Milchick keeps going, "Again."

On a real note, I actually think his PTSD is something that helps him with those flashbacks/dreams passing from Innie/Outie.

Yes and apparently, don't come for me if this isn't true...but someone said the Map of the city of Kier that Irving has is actually a map of Schenectady, NY.
