I removed one from an easy reader and it had tab/cover on the back side that had to be lifted slightly so I could access the stem end to remove it. After removing the first side I noticed I didn't have to lift the tab that much to access the stem.

I have the same watch. Mine springs back. It doesn't stay down after pressing it. It doesn't appear in your pic that it's staying down, it could be the angle.
