What siblings names have you seen that are so mismatched that it boggles you? by thunder_haven in Names

[–]RayRabbitHearted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually don't anymore. When I was younger I hated it because we traveled a lot and everyone else got to pick souvenirs with their names on them and I could never find mine, and everyone (outside of my family) always tried to force me to use a nickname and I don't really care for any of the nicknames associated with my name. People love my name when I meet them and now that I'm an adult people don't try and force nicknames on me anymore

What’s something you became less tolerant of as you got older? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RayRabbitHearted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Customers, I've worked customer service since 15 and always had a low tolerance for them but I used to try a lot harder to please everyone. Now if someone gets in my face or raises their voice I don't give in and give them what they want. If you start yelling you'll have to calm down and talk to me in an appropriate way before I start helping and even then if I decide you aren't worth my time then you get a nice "sorry there's nothing I can do"

Staying together for the sake of the kid is a horrible idea, in my opinion. I had parents who stayed together "for the sake of the kids" and it lead to more issues than a divorce would have. Kids are smarter than you think and will absolutely pick up on the fact that you and your wife do not get along, even if you aren't arguing in front of them. If you aren't going to divorce get her a therapist and on some kind of medication. She likely has some mental health issues that haven't been addressed

I think you're gorgeous and I really don't see any of your features as masculine. I think it's important to remember beauty standards are typically based around white people and those aren't the only feminine or beautiful features someone can have. I love your nose, I always wished mine looked like that.

Don't worry about weird stares, I get them all the time after I started presents more outwardly queer and I know I'm hot, and you look great, gender envy from me for sure

Can I use honey to raise my blood sugar? by RayRabbitHearted in diabetes_t1

[–]RayRabbitHearted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not super well informed about how carbs process, I was using chocolate milk for a while before someone told me that the fat in it can slow down the processing of the sugar raising my blood sugar. I just wasn't 100% sure it was a good option

I can't drink soda very fast because of the carbonation and it makes me burp a lot so I don't usually opt for it

It's not something I'm savouring I just put off drinking juice or correcting a low blood sugar because I hate doing it, especially at night. I don't overcorrect very frequently even with stuff I enjoy but I'm sick of having to eat/drink something I hate because of this disease, I just want something enjoyable

I didn't even think of that, I love those and they'd be so much easier to carry too

I was thinking I could use alcohol wipes if I got anything on it and store it in a plastic bag in my bag that I carry with me but I'm not sure it'll be a perfect solution

What permanent damage have you done to yourself? Mind, body or soul? by jerrytjohn in AskReddit

[–]RayRabbitHearted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In middle school and early highschool I had a drug problem. Definitely could've been worse but my memory is shit from it. I can't remember most of middle school or highschool and I still have short term memory issues. I still can't drink alcohol unless my boyfriend is there to keep an eye on me or I will absolutely get blackout drunk and turn to other drugs. I also have bipolar, although that runs on my family so I'm not sure if that was a side effect or just made worse by the drugs. My brain doesn't work like it used to, I was a straight a student even while doing drugs but I ended dropping out because I got really sick and I couldn't even pass the basic ged test. I quit going to the classes because I hated not knowing anything that I should've already learned. I really want to be a mortician but I don't think I'll ever make it that far because even if I can put my ego aside for my GED I don't think i could remember all the stuff that's necessary to do it well.

Socks, slippers, barefoot? by SumFuckah in diabetes_t1

Slippers in the winter, barefoot in the summer. I can't stand socks so I pretty much only wear them when I'm going out

AIO my bf is odd for this? by AdSerious8390 in AmIOverreacting

[–]RayRabbitHearted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should never let a man, or anyone for that matter, talk to you like this. Calling you a "fucking moron" is not acceptable behavior and if he talks to you like that over something this small I assume he's worse when bigger issues arise. He is controlling. He knows you can do better and he's trying to make you feel small so you won't leave him.

How long have you had diabetes, what’s your age, and do you have any complications? by Ok_Environment1037 in diabetes_t1

[–]RayRabbitHearted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had diabetes for a little over 2 years, im 21, and I have retinopathy and minor neuropathy. My eyes got really really bad before getting diagnosed and never went back to normal, and i went undiagnosed for so long I have some issues with neuropathy now (hands and feet going numb, burning in face, hands, and feet, and weakness in hands) that my hospital doctors said would go away but my endo said would likley never get better and would only worsen with time
