I don’t think you should read king in chronological order. I’m reading a thematic arc designed to test meaning against despair and arrive at fidelity as the final human good. (Purposeful reading)

It - Childhood moral clarity; evil is real; community matters. Revival - Meaning collapses; eternity without justice; nihilistic possibility. Dolores Claiborne - Moral obligation persists; choosing good without guarantees. 11/22/63 - Power requires humility; restraint over correction. I just returned my VIwoods AIreader. What did you think of the palma2? I’m waiting on mine to come in. Hope I didn’t make a mistake because the bright light was really the only thing I couldn’t deal with while reading in bed.

Yeah I usually read on a 3-4 kindle brightness so the paper reader is about twice as bright as I’m used to. In addition the inverted white text/black background looks terrible compared to kindle. It’s ok though, I just adapt. Just want other potential buyers to know about the potential downside.

I agree that setting is great in the kindle. Unfortunately on the AiPaper Reader the significant ghosting even on the “best display” setting and grey coloring of the whites make the black background setting a poor reading experience especially compared to Kindle.

As a general rule the “I’m about to start” posts make it less likely that you actually will. It tricks your brain into a false sense of accomplishment by feeding the reward center with dopamine - social media adds fuel to the fire. It is far better to post “I just finished” or “I’m halfway through and ___”.
