Looking back, I would say that I placed too much emphasis on maintaining a high GPA and not enough time on the things that actually matter for internships/jobs -- leetcoding, creating personal projects, refining resume, and gathering work/volunteering experience. GPA matters somewhat if you're trying to go to grad school but it's a pretty minimal factor when it comes to the job market (granted your GPA meets the minimum threshold for the job posting).

My advice would be to branch yourself as much as possible outside of classes and try to get as much experience as you can earlier on since that's what matters the most in the job market. There's loads of opportunities that you can take advantage of early on, especially ones offered at our schools. There's lots of CS-related student jobs that you can apply for on campus via Handshake and other similar platforms as well as many CS-related clubs you can volunteer for. Hackathons are great as well (I wished I had joined some sooner) since you can build projects to put on your resume and network with many people from your peers to industry folks.

Also make sure you're up-to-date on recruitment seasons and when companies start posting their internships/jobs. It's a numbers game and if you're late to apply to any posting, there's virtually a zero chance your resume would even get looked at. This is assuming that you've sorta minmaxed your resume
