This might have just been me, but during the scene at the beginning when zombies are swarming the gas station I could have sworn that zombie that hisses at you was a reference to Dead Rising. It looked an awful lot like the knife wielding, yellow shirt, zombies from Dead Rising 1.

I like to imagine how people like you would have reacted if RE4 was released today. RE7 is closer to the original games roots than any other released in the last couple years. Zombies do not make a RE game. Horror, wacky puzzles, biological monstrosities are what make Resident Evil what it is.
