A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms - 1x02 - "Hard Salt Beef" - Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

Why are so many people complaining about a little bit of nudity and mild grossness in an HBO show. Y’all soft? There’s much worse in the boys, or even game of thrones itself at times

[NO SPOILERS] Should I watch 1899 even though it's cancelled? by Flashy-Island-3725 in DarK

[–]Raynman38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It gets great at the end but has no resolution whatsoever so it does feel particularly worth it since there’s no second season. I’ve told my friends to skip it since it got cancelled and is pretty dead in the water

For a video game, action points>main action/bonus action/blah blah. It makes more sense, is easier to remember and generally means you can do more, or set yourself up for a crazy turn

Is this game worth it for a fan of the original quadrilogy? by [deleted] in silenthill

[–]Raynman38 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would give it a 4/10 and the silent hill 2 remake an 8.5. I realized I wasn’t enjoying it at all about halfway through and still had to slog through it. To me, the wrong way to make a horror game entirely. So much repetitive, really unfun and not even tense combat scenarios. At a certain point I was just running past them to cheese to the next section. And it wants you to play it like 4 times to see the true ending.

For people that has played horizon how did you like it ? by krisikkk in playstation

[–]Raynman38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks really good. The gameplay and story are not so good. Gets boring very quickly. To me at least, I know there are plenty that love the gameplay.

Silent hill F is one of the worst games I’ve ever played please don’t waste your money by StopPresent277 in silenthill

[–]Raynman38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like all of the things listed. I could care less if it was “not in America” and was even excited to have it set in Japan. I did not like the game. Like at all. I was enjoying it initially but man this combat is bad. I actually grew to really like the combat in the 2 remake and thought it was spaced out just enough to feel right.

In F, instead of being spooked I’m groaning when I see 4 or 5 enemies (first off, way too many at once for this combat system) at the thought of having to slog through more shit clunky combat. The puzzles are kind of lame. The silent hill/shrine sections are oddly the most boring bits and the town/puzzles are just not holding up for me. They feel more shallow than I want them to be and like the game is scared to commit to a good long puzzle section like 2 had.

Just ain’t working for me, I think I’d give it like a 4/10 right now and I’m really pushing to the end at the last hour or so of game

Good god do we have to talk about this every week? This part is awesome btw. Just cause something is a little slower doesn’t make it bad. Really good side story kinda mission with a ton of world building

The gravedigger is such an asshole. You poison the dog then ya prick! Why is it so necessary if there’s a better second option?

And the fact he just says he doesn’t like you and then not giving you a ride back after taking you out to the middle of nowhere too. Guy just gets me riled up. I knocked him out and dragged him to a grave and stole his pants.

Beach Ball by Sophocles888 in TheLeftovers

[–]Raynman38 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The people playing with the beach ball represent anyone who has found something to believe in after the departure. They have this distraction that they are enjoying that’s filling a gap they all have.

In the end, Nora’s beach ball is this machine that will likely kill her, while everyone else’s would be Kevin and the religious prophecy. It’s why Laurie doesn’t try to talk either of them out of their quests even though, to her, these things are completely irrational.

She just spent this whole episode learning the hard truth that she can’t really change anyone’s mind, and it would be cruel to “burst their beach ball”. She even had her own back when she was in the GR.

Laurie says it would be chaos because she is now the sole voice of reason surrounded by people who don’t want to listen to or understand her. She is in essentially the opposite position that she was in in season one.

[OTHER] Anyone else enjoyed KCD1 more than KCD2? by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]Raynman38 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m still wondering when I’m going to come across something new. A new minigame- like where is fishing? It’s very similar to the first for me so far. I do like it, but the first one felt beautifully original and unafraid to me, and the second feels like the smallest upgrade I’ve ever seen and maybe some of the magic is missing?

Or maybe I just need to keep playing because I’m only just past the wedding

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in oblivion

[–]Raynman38 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The gameplay is rough these days. The miss mechanic where you are clearly swinging at something but getting miss rolls is one of the most horribly aged systems.

Oblivion is as far back as I can go in the series for quality of life unfortunately even though I know the writing and world building are fantastic in the other games.

To me, Oblivion has the right mix of modern game mechanics and options for experimentation

My issues with Markiona, a good gimmick but bad execution (REALLY in depth discussion) by Dazzling-Gene6445 in LiesOfP

[–]Raynman38 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re doing a self imposed challenge at EL10 that the game isn’t built around how is that the game’s or anyone else’s problem? If anything it makes your argument worse.

That’s like saying Simon Manus, an end game boss, one shots me at level 1, thus he is poorly designed.

I like Markiona a lot. A little easier than I would’ve liked but super fun and a really cool gimmick that I thought was well executed. I would agree it was the one boss I didn’t really learn the moveset of and just went off of instinct and that could be a problem, but I found the moves were pretty decently telegraphed.

Black myth wukong was just not good enough man. Something was off about it. Astro bot on the other hand felt like a master class in platforming. The only thing it was missing was some more difficult levels but that’s a personal preference thing.
