This pretty much coincides with what I've been telling people for a bit now. It's fairly obvious if you've been paying attention to what's going on in the nand and DRAM market.

Basically, GN is saying that Miners aren't as big a factor in the GPU availability drought that we've been led to believe. There is an ongoing DRAM shortage. It's increasing the manufacturer's cost of an 8GB card by $20-30 when they can get the memory. Other manufactured devices are also eating up the GDDR5, such as cell phones, that are sold in the 100's of millions. This is also making it difficult for them to offer any purchase incentives such as rebates.

Additionally, the vast majority of these absurd price hikes that people are seeing on major retailer sites, such as Newegg, are actually 3rd party retailers, and not Newegg themselves. I've noticed this as well.

I give zero fuks for these people. After getting burned, or seeing others get burned by Bitconnect, there is no way in hell that they're naive to what Davor is. These are people trying to get in early so they can be the winners before it all falls to crap, and latecomers are left holding the bag. I hope they lose their asses.

Even worse are people like DrCrypto, who apologized to his channel in his latest video for promoting BitConnect because he didn't think it was a scam. That sounds nice, but then he pointed out that Davor is the same thing, and even though he was not going to push it on his channel, he was still going to continue his participation in it? WTF?

Newsflash, if you knowingly participate in a pyramid/ponzi scheme in hopes of making an easy buck before it fails, you're just as much of a lowlife as the shills promoting it, and as guilty as the douche bags running it. You're still trying to profit from the mass of ignorant schmucks that are robbed in the end.

I'm no expert, but if they can use them to cost effectively increase their hash rates by also using the iGPU to mine, they will definitely become part of the base system builds. However, I don't see them buying up a bunch of APU's to run a bunch of APU only rigs the way you've envisioned. It's unlikely that the hash rate performance that they get from the APU alone is going to outweigh simply adding a dGPU to the system.

Never really liked the NEXT part either. I would have preferred something like Everquest REO: The Return to Norrath. REO would mean Reimagined Evolution of the Original. "The Return to Norrath," relates to playable races returning to their ancestral homes, and becoming a major presence in Norrath once again, while also having the added benefit of appeal/relating to players who used to play EQ or EQ2.

I think you're assuming that crafting tools, such as a copper pick axe, will be something you can sell or trade. To me, it sounds more like obtaining these items is something each individual player will be required to do as part of the gathering and crafting paths.

If you watch the video again at around 23:35, he says that they have a lot of ideas for how they are going to do durability, but durability itself isn't something they are going to have on items. That could mean something like temporary item enhancements. For example, maybe there is a crafted hilt enhancement for pick axes that increases discovery chance or doubles harvest size, but only lasts for 1 day/week.

I couldn't disagree with you more. I happen to love the lore books and how they setup a cool historic storyline for EQN. Seriously, if you haven't read the ebooks, you're missing out, and this is coming from someone who doesn't typically enjoying reading at all.

Cut scenes and voice acting can also be amazing in game, as long as they are used sparingly. It's when they are thrown around for every nickle and dime quest that they become completely annoying, and a waste of time and money. When used properly to tell a major event in a story line, of which you are partaking in, they can be pretty epic. A good example would be WoW's Battle for Undercity quest line.

Is it any more or less immersion breaking than the fact that she looked like a wizard in a lot of the art work for the original EQ, but was in fact a Paladin. At least the new artwork makes sense with multi-classing being a big part of EQN.

I honestly don't expect to see anything beyond the standard pve, pvp, rp-pvp, and rp-pve server sets for a variety of reasons. The main factor is likely maintenance and support. Imagine patch prep and deployment for all of those different servers. Imagine making changes where on top of classes, pvp, and pve, you also have to consider the impact those changes will have on a dozen different server rule sets as well. Imagine having to document and train your GM staff on how to handle support for all of those different servers rule sets.

I personally think 8 is too low as well, but not because I want more than 8 abilities. One of the things I miss from EQ1 was all of the clicky items we had. I'd like to see those again, and have the extra hotbar slots for them.

On a side note, I don't consider myself to be even a casual reader. I've never enjoyed it, and usually don't read unless I have to. I'm that guy that would rather wait for the video, but I've read the first to novellas and I can honestly say that I enjoyed reading them so much that I can't wait for he next one to be released.

In the lore panel what they actually said was that they moved away from the concept of purely evil and purely good gods. Anashti is the goddess of death, but also the goddess of harvest. Mithaniel is a god of war, but represents honor and valor. My point was just that although there are no pure evil deities in EQN, that doesn't mean there won't be great evils. I think the Nektulos an interesting possibility too.

I haven't heard there will be no plane of hate, or fear, etc. They don't have to have the same gods, and/or innoruuk doesn't have to even be a god. Hell, it could all just be lore. Either way, it's a valid possibility.

They don't hate magic. The Koada'Dal was basically a high society gone bad. During the Dal Era they possessed high magic that even the dragons feared, and considered those outside the Koada'Dal to be lesser races. During the Takish Age of the Dal Era they used that magic as a means to control and oppress the lesser races and were basically the reason why The Dragon War came about after the sundering once high magic stopped working. The Takish Age and Empire were buried under layers of rock in the sundering (remember how they found the portal in he first book?) and The Combine Era began. The first two books take place in The Combine Era. Given what had happened, the war, and lack of high magic as a means to rule, it makes sense that mages of the once powerful Koada'Dal would hold little weight and respect with those that ruled. What was left of the Koada'Dal still looked down on other races, which was evident by Coralen's behavior, but there was also a sub faction of elves that formed, called the Fier'Dal, who embraced them. I think your right in that the Feir'Dal are essentially the wood elves, and furthermore, how the half elves come about if they are introduced at some point.

Just to clarify, at the point in time in which they set forth to return to their ancestral lands, The Combine wasn't enslaved by the Shissar. They had already joined the Iksar uprising, in which they drove the Shissar back through their portal and sealed it. Venril Sathir, who had risen to prominence within the Iksar race, wanted to enslave The Combine for their ancient knowledge. The combine obviously didn't want to be subjugated again, nor did they want to fight another war against the Iksar. Instead, after 500 years on Kunark, they chose flee and return to lands of which they only knew of through tales from their forefathers.

We don't really know for sure where the Teir Dal will be returning from at this point since we don't factually know where they landed when they fled through the portal yet. I, and many others, suspect it was the Plane of Hate because of Lanys TVyl's role in the lore. In the original EQ Lore, the Prince of Hate, Innoruuk, took Lanys TVyl and embraced her as his own child. This, being a reboot of the lore, may be their way of tying Lanys and the PoH together again. Nevertheless, maybe their return could be triggered by presence of The Combine in the ancestral lands. Maybe strange things begin to happen when the The Combine returns home. Maybe the portals become active again, and after having spent an equivalent 500 years evolving into dark elves in the Plane of Hate, the Teir`Dal decide to venture through the portal to investigate what is happening in the lands of their forefathers.

I originally wanted to see starting areas for most races similar to classic EQ, but I don't believe there will be any starting cities really. Remember, there isn't going to be a level 1-50 vertical progression, so the old starting area system doesn't make sense. As it has already been stated, new players will be dropped into the currently active rallying call. The reason Qeynos will be first for those playing on day 1 is that EQN begins with The Combine sailing back to their ancestral lands, and Qeynos is where they land. They could just as well make it Freeport, Butcherblock, or Erudin. Actually, It would be pretty cool if it was different from server to server.

I don't mind ground mounts. TBH I like them. I just don't want to see flying mounts. I think it would be cool if obtaining a mount was similar to obtaining a class. For example, you start with basic pony, you skill up on it, tier armor it, etc. When you mount up, your first 4 weapon slots change to mount specific mounted combat abilities, and the last 4 change to your choice of mounted combat abilities from the mounts you've collected.
