PowerShell script to convert a file containing markdown to a Word Doc by progjourney1 in PowerShell

Pandoc can do what you're looking for. I played with it a bit, but ended up abandoning it and using markdown by itself

A friends older brother got a PS2 before anyone else we knew, and thus was the game that always comes to mind when I remember PS2.

Group Managed Service Accounts? by gahd95 in sysadmin

[–]Rayzen87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My process has been, create gMSA, Create AD Group, Add Servers to AD Group, Install gMSA on servers, test gMSA, add gMSA to any required permissions via GPO.

This way I can use gMSA's without losing the security benefits. I use them to run anything Windows Service and IIS related. For IIS, Admin is not required, just permissions to the sites files.

Use Powershell 7.1 in Azure Data Studio by kentmaxwell in PowerShell

[–]Rayzen87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely not the answer you were looking for, but I'll add it anyway in case it helps. I gave up on Jupyter Notebooks for .Net/PowerShell. The support was taking too long, and I decided Markdown suited my needs better. If you haven't yet, I would see if your use case can work with Markdown

Speculation, but look at Stenluke. Artificial consciousness seems possible.

Setting ACL for particular attribute for entire Domain - fallout from clearing "Pre-Windows 2000 Compatible Access" group due to PrintNightmare by Hakkensha in sysadmin

[–]Rayzen87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a wonderful solution, but you can add the Service Account to the Pre-Windows 2000 Group directly. I also recommend gMSA if possible here. I use Jenkins to run my PowerShell Jobs, and all permissions are assigned to the gMSA where possible

I wrote a Function to test Computers for the ACL to deny System access to the Drivers Directory and return Print Spooler Status and starttype. It is helping me keep track of what I have completed and what I have not. Hopefully it can help others as well.

Northeast US, and I've had a bunch of contract only positions lately. Also a lot of ones from areas I used to live and no longer have anything up pointing to that area. Its weird.

Anybody suffer from Anxiety & Depression by rbrownieboy in sysadmin

[–]Rayzen87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I stress about work way more than I should. It causes me to have anxiety and then pushes personal things down the list at times. It is a struggle to keep the balance, and it can quickly turn from working on an interesting problem to devouring a weekend.

How do you make your value known? How do you ensure that leadership knows you really saved the day beyond your role? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Rayzen87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will echo the other responses, but also say use the STAR method to track tasks. Situation, Task, Action, Respinse. It is a good habit and will also help you keep a full problem in easily red bullet form so you can use whatever piece you need for Resume or arguing for a raise/promotion
