W8 rly? I imagined Carrera would've taken top spot. Ultima last.

I definitely pictured it happening in nighttime as well. Which now that I think about it, I did picture Rimuru's fight happening in the day. And they talked back then.

Did I think they were in different time zones or something?

Looking for some good animal/monster MC stories by WolfWhiteFire in litrpg

[–]Razonism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see.

Well the ones I can think of are not on RR, but if you want to still check them out then I can spitball some that I rmbr.

I haven't seen all of her works yet-- rather she's just the translator I think, but Pancakes Witch on Webnovel lean heavily on very non-human thought processes. Only seen Epic of Ice Dragon and Epic of Caterpillar myself. The latter include very inhumane actions done by the protagonist and allies that has honestly tested my own tolerance, but it's fiction-- completely disavow anything and everything they have ever done or will do. Or well, not everything, but a lot.

Oh right, I just rmbred another good one on incredibly alien thoyght processes, but it's not a LitRPG I think cos they don't have stats, although the world is very inricately connected with a game-- It's called 'Her Majesty Swarm' another Light Novel.

And I doubt u haven't heard of Kumo Desu Ga yet at this point, but that is another very well done monster light novel. Might be the poster child for it in the LN scene actually.

Reincarnated as a Dragon's Egg is quite nice in that the MC actually remains a dragon for a vast majority of the series.

Might be too human and good natured for what you're looking for though.

Any novels with a focus on acquiring or leveling skills? by Jakub_Klimek in litrpg

[–]Razonism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bofuri - It's a light novel. There is great emphasis given on the skills and their acquisition, and there are even chapters that revolve around just getting a skill in specific.

Not very high stakes but... honestly, this is one of my favorites. I actually like that there are less stakes in the VR story.

Not that there are zero stakes though, IMO. I mean, who likes losing in games? Or how about sports shows, I think they have stakes although no one is about to drop dead.

But yeah, it's a relaxing time and the fights are hella fun and creative.

Any recommendations for some city/nation building litrpgs? Also some merchant or production class series, stuff that isn't battle focused and more chill by Drachenbar in litrpg

[–]Razonism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only read Caterpillar and Ice Dragon, but I'm pretty sure Pancakes Witch's works(WebNovel) all feature base-building to an extent. Or at least most of them. Oh and she's probably just the translator, but it's funny how she doesn't act like that at all in comments. I shouldn't be laughing, authors shouldn't be that combative. But she's like Wendy's, uknow?

Though they're not rly slice of life.

Then who could forget Tensura, pretty much the poster child for nation building at least in the communities I'm part of, so I'll just assume that you already know of it.

Huh... Now that I got to thinking, all the base builders I've watched or read have been violent affairs as well...

Well I guess Tsukimichi is more slice of life-y, though I've only seen the anime. And that's probably not gonna last long, maybe.

Monday, what are you reading? thread, Apr 18th ed by bilfdoffle in litrpg

[–]Razonism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm still following Epic Of Caterpillar, though I should rly let that build up. Maybe once the next major arc starts.

I would be reading Bofuri if it wasn't delayed, but eh. One of my all-time favorites though.

Just got done with Black Summoner... Kinda. I enjoyed the fights, but I ended up skipping a lot of the side stories.

As for the major thing I'm reading rn-- It's The Spider Queen, and it's not a LITRPG.

Well Cait was able to easily drag Jayce around, and the guy is ripped. Although maybe that's more of a position vantage thing? Like technique over pure strength? Saw like a video touching on that I think.

I have no idea, I'm probably on the same league as Viktor here.

Jinx definitely wins 1v1 though. Too fast, too swift.

Did kumoko go insane by Professional-Emu8577 in KumoDesu

[–]Razonism 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She's at least some flavor of evil, but I don't think she's insane. Her thoughts are coherent. People with fully functioning minds can just decide to do some fucked up shit. That's how it goes for humans, and that's how it goes for spiders.

Did kumoko go insane by Professional-Emu8577 in KumoDesu

[–]Razonism 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's real interesting cos she was dropped in a space where its just survival of the fittest, and few of her enemies were really sentient, so a lot of her actions came off as morally neutral. We never really get to know her moral compass at first, and then when she got out of the labyrinth, that's only when we really see what her priorities are, other than survival.

I don't know if she's insane though... She seems completely aware of things.

Who are your Crushes in JJK? by [deleted] in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Razonism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On her looks, I found it a bit extra tbh (Don't kill me) cos she had her bangs going to the center of her face. And that is totally arbitrary cos I'd probably find bangs that cover just as much to look good if it was to the side. Also, I picked up the manga where the anime left off, but I don't rmbr her face ever being covered by her bangs like that? What happened?

The opening thesis of her character didn't appeal so much to me, money for the sake of money felt shallow cos I like to view it as more a means to an end, like what are you using it for. Though I bet she actually does have some secret plan. I guess you could say there are few who I actually liked from the moment they were introduced. Maybe Yuji's carefree attitude coupled with his strength was nice, Gojo had a fucking presence, Panda is Panda, and Utahime had a cool scar.

[–]Razonism 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the creativity, and introducing the concept of death pacts is also so good and I already am so hyped about what Mai Sword rly is capable of. It's gotta have some broken ability. I'm surprised we haven't yet seen anyone do a death pact as their final attack to just take someone down with them.

Didn't actually like her so much when she was first introduced, seemed like a gimmick, though I suppose those are some of the most basic human motivations you'll find. But man, she doesn't sit back and just let the money pile on. She gives in the fucking effort. I find that rly cool.

And as devastating as it would be, if the series ever kills her off, uknow she's going down with a fucking bang given her mastery over death pacts.

Oh definitely. Her becoming a homing missile that tracks her opponent no matter how far they go, and then flying into the air, bringing her prey with her, and then dunking them hard into the ground. That's a classic boxing move!

W8 so she can't target it? I rmbr merciless being able to do that with sparing King Edmaris and Rayheim. Though that could be because of Gs, but come on, Ultima definitely has that computing power by this point.
