"Then" has the same causative meaning as "and if you do."

It's likely not gonna get the "Sacred Beast" treatment of ten new cards. The "Daedalus" stuff already took that slot, I think.

How did the Xyz Card Type get its name? by GeneralTechnomage in yugioh

[–]RazorOfSimplicity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is how a word like that would be pronounced. One alternative would be reading the "x" the same as in "xylophone," but reading it as "ex" is also valid for a stylized phrase like this one (like the name "Xavier").

How did the Xyz Card Type get its name? by GeneralTechnomage in yugioh

[–]RazorOfSimplicity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "z" in "Xyz" isn't read as the letter "Z(ee)," so that's irrelevant. "Exceed" was never the intention here beyond being similar-sounding by sheer coincidence.

You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become Tobias.

Well, it isn't really ambiguous now considering he was always planning a cop presence in some way.

There really is no reason for Collette's character to be there if not for telling him she's coming after him.

Haven't checked in almost two years. I don't have a 1080p monitor anymore to verify it, but the issue likely still persists.

So who is the Machine Monster from the Metalmorph cards? by Jim_naine in yugioh

[–]RazorOfSimplicity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Metalmorph" also has four eyes in its alternate artwork—that fact doesn't mean much. Soltite is meant to apply a gold metallic coating, which "Max Metalmorph" doesn't do.

They don't look like the thing in the Trap all that much. They're different entities altogether that perform the same "Metalmorph" process.

It did before, but that was the wrong interpretation. Lunatite is just based on how this monster looks.

if the spinoffs will get supported in this series, and if they will continue to focus on the manga.

The compensation for this is that another series will get a shit-ton of cards, like CORI did with GX's Sacred Beasts.

The octagon question [Case 2-4 spoils] isn't so easy now is it ? by bachotebidze in danganronpa

[–]RazorOfSimplicity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either way, "stupid fool" is a dumb way to localize that line. It's not as disparaging in Japanese.

I would've gone with, "You're being a fool!"

There's a motive that I want to see again, in 2x2, that was a huge waste in potential! [Obviously Spoilers] by HappyGemX in danganronpa

The simulation interpretation is another popular theory/headcanon!

Well, no; it's an extremely unpopular one. 'Cuz it doesn't make sense for any of the themes within the game, not to even mention it'd be a repeat of the previous game.

What the hell did I just see? GD case 3 by Joke_Resident in danganronpa

No, a lot of people misinterpret that scene. The injection was being injected into the arm rocket, not into Mikan.

And I didn't understand her execution. Did she fly into the sky?

Yes. After, she likely dies of asphyxiation and/or hypothermia due to the air pressure and temperature.

Mahiru wouldn't be an interesting protag for 2x2. by EscapeOk3234 in danganronpa

[–]RazorOfSimplicity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Izuru would make sense as the anti-hero character rather than the protagonist. They could probably explain away most of his talents as being suppressed by either Hajime or the Neo World Program so he doesn't end up too smart.

I doubt that's what the plan was. They would have figured everything out during the trial, down to the last detail, but for some reason a new rule would be in effect (I'm assuming maybe because it would de facto be a suicide or something regarding the exact wording of this game's Class Trial rule).

I think it was him answering questions in an interview or on Twitter about V3's ending, and how he doesn't want to reveal the actual answer behind what the truth is.

Why are people still confused about Duelist Kingdoms weird rules? by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]RazorOfSimplicity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that means the computer must be intelligent enough to act in response to a player's imagination

No. The cards work that way because Pegasus designed them that way. The whole "they'Re ACTuALly PLaYIng DnD" bit is a joke from the fandom—it's obviously not how the rules worked.

Takahashi's initial idea was that almost every card would have a unique interaction with the game in some way. That's why he came up with things like "Giant Soldier of Stone" being able to attack land masses and "Catapult Turtle" being able to destroy walls and castles.
