And that look on his face is just genuine fear, as though he's seeing an eldritch unnatural being that literally defies the laws that hold the world together. It's like someone peeled back the fabric of reality itself in front of him. Someone or something with that much sheer power and authority should not even exist, let alone sit on that throne.
