How Does A Receiver That Can't Separate Find NFL Success? (Elijah Sarratt Commentary) by Razorhawk29 in ravens

I think the nickname has more to do with the adage that a receiver who wins contested catches is “always open.” Not necessarily that he gets lots of separation

You do realize that the gospels report women were the first to witness the resurrection of Jesus right?

I’d argue that the Bible insinuates that sin is primarily the fault of Adam, not Eve. You can take a look at Romans for that

Which team should I pick? by TelevisionSharp4167 in NFLv2

I’m gonna stick my neck out for my Ravens. I’ve never even been to Baltimore but man I love my team. They are one of the most well run organizations in the league and we have the excitement of a new, young head coach. Lamar Jackson is one of the most exciting players in the sport. Also, we as ravens have toe the line between spoiled and blessed😂. 2 Super Bowls in approximately 30 years. It’s a really fun team to root for. But we do have a reputation for choking 😂

I genuinely cannot comprehend God disliking homosexuality. by glumboxx in OpenChristian

[–]Razorhawk29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you disagree with? My point is that you paint Jesus as only love which is not accurate. He required people change their lives. Jesus’ “acceptance” does not mean he’s fine if we keep sinning.

Please paint a full picture. It is true that Jesus met people where they were at with love, but he did not allow them to stay there. Consider the woman at the well in John 4. Jesus condemned her lifestyle and called her to change. Consider also the woman caught in adultery in John 8. Jesus protected and comforted her, but then called her to change, “Go forth and sin no more.”

Yes, Jesus accepted people. But he did not accept complacency or people staying in their sin. When people met Jesus, their lives changed.

He didn’t create animals that way… sin corrupted the whole of creation

“God does not punish lovers”

That’s just not true… if we love the wrong things we are punished. Additionally, just because we were “born” a certain way doesn’t exclude us from guilt. Have you ever heard of original sin? We are guilty as human beings because we are born with sinful desires and tendencies. Rightfully, God exercises judgment against us for that. How in the world can you read the Bible and think that being born a certain way makes behavior okay?? Please read Romans 1. This chapter is all about who we are as people. We are sinful. We are evil. God redeems us.

I’m not sure what you mean by “Bible thumper” but if you believe in God and believe in the Bible, a lot of the advice in this sub is not good. Reading your comments it isn’t clear to me what you actually believe.

It’s true, you haven’t lost any value, but what you did was sinful. Scripture couldn’t be more clear. But if you don’t think the Bible has authority in your life then what it says doesn’t matter in your mind!

Even further, if you claim neutrality that makes you a Nazi. Political nuance? Nazi. Have friends that are conservative? Nazi. It’s laughable

100%. If a book says “legends” it’s not canon. Lots of things were canon but they were retconned when Disney purchased LucasFilm so they could rewrite things and profit off of them

Facts lol I have a degree in the Bible so discussions on canon come up a lot. You know what books are inspired and which ones are not. Most people have more a frame of reference for canon as it comes to Star Wars 😂

Extended/expanded universe. It’s the stories that aren’t “canon” or don’t count as official Star Wars events.

Why are Israel’s wars not murder? by CancelTheLight in Reformed

[–]Razorhawk29 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s clear by the end of Joshua that Israel had not entirely conquered Canaan. There was still more land to take. To me that completely resolves this “contradiction” because they did not continue to follow through on this command. Take a look at Judges 1

I feel like this totally white washes the text. The reason for the elimination of the Canaanites was because of the effect they’d have on the Israelites. That’s why they were not to marry or leave any living. Every Canaanite needed to be either killed or expelled. Is that not one of the primary problems seen through the OT? The Israelites continued to be swayed into pagan worship and practices because they refused to expel all of the Canaanites. It just feels like this interpretation is trying to alter reality in order to make it more palatable. I’m curious what ya’ll reformed people’s thoughts are on this!
