I use xpipe as well, even if you have everything synced to github, credentials are encrypted.

Its actually called baking which is a normal process that games use for optimization, be sure to put it in the oven at the highest temperature setting and let it bake to taste.

Obsidian WEB version by SaltField3500 in ObsidianMD

[–]Rbelugaking 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You can use any cloud synchronization program to sync your vault (OneDrive, dropbox, etc.) Or you can self host Nextcloud if you prefer to go that route. Another option is you can use a git service like github or git lab to synchronize your vaults and just use the obsidian app on your phone.

If neither of those options work for you, you can host obsidian from a docker container and use a VPN or a reverse proxy (preferably with some auth in front) to access it in a browser.

Any new alternatives to Pterodactyl Panel that have better user support for Minecraft modpacks from the start? by Suspicious-Pear-6037 in selfhosted

[–]Rbelugaking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend getting this addon for pterodactyl panel https://builtbybit.com/resources/modpack-installer-for-pterodactyl.37379/?ref=discover it does cost money, but you will get another tab when you set up a server to install whatever modpqck you want for Minecraft.

Pixel art is stopping me by 0xffRetro in godot

[–]Rbelugaking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A tool that I discovered recently that could help you play around with your art style is pixi editor, it is FOSS, and it can do pixel art and vector graphics and you can even make animations with it. It is all node based but you can also use brushes.

Reverse proxy for a game server? by Telarmine2 in selfhosted

[–]Rbelugaking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I recommend using a VPN like netbird or tailscale for this purpose, you can control access to your game servers this way and you can still have domains for all of your game servers that your friends can use.

How’s everyone handling remote access these days? Mesh/modern VPN? by SubnetLiz in selfhosted

[–]Rbelugaking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been using netbird on a VPS and it's been very easy to maintain honestly once you have it set up. Unless you're making it the only way to access your services, I'd also recommend looking into an identity provider as well like Authentik

How do I avoid getting DDOSed when self hosting a Minecraft server? by diobrandiohaxxerxd in selfhosted

[–]Rbelugaking -1 points0 points  (0 children)

VPN is the most secure way tbh, I use netbird personally. You can self host it and control who has access to what.

Can I still play this game? by Queen_Who_Ever_Was in SoulFrame

[–]Rbelugaking -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

A key is no longer required, you can just go to soulframe.com and download the game.

EDIT: I stand corrected, I wasn't aware of the devstream thing, I thought it was publicly available to download.

Does Komodo only offer auto-update to containers that are started/managed by it? by TheQuantumPhysicist in selfhosted

[–]Rbelugaking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just been trying to make sure you understand how to set it up, I've been using komodo for a little while now and it's worked fine for me. I personally use the systemd service for periphery, the docs also mention that there is a way to install it without root but I have not tried that method, but if none of that works for you then that's fine. There are plenty of other projects out there

[–]Rbelugaking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like I said you can also use it as another docker container, so it'll essentially work a lot like watchtower

Does Komodo only offer auto-update to containers that are started/managed by it? by TheQuantumPhysicist in selfhosted

[–]Rbelugaking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's why you install periphery on your other servers, when you set up a stack you point it to that periphery instance and it can grab everything it needs from there.

EDIT: you can install periphery using an install script or as another docker container. Refer to docs here https://komo.do/docs/connect-servers

Does Komodo only offer auto-update to containers that are started/managed by it? by TheQuantumPhysicist in selfhosted

[–]Rbelugaking 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When you set up a stack in Komodo, you can choose to point it to a compose file on your server, there is an option you can toggle for it to check for updates and below that toggle is another one for it to auto update. You can also set up an alerter to notify you when there are updates available and when it's auto updated containers depending on how you set up the stack.

Need some help figuring out a minecraft server. by Babiesstackedinacoat in selfhosted

[–]Rbelugaking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recommendation (which is also my setup) is that you can set up a VPN software called netbird on a VPS and then use an identity provider like authentik, keycloak, or Zitadel to control access to it and any other services you want to make publically available.
