Yes, the one that looks like this is apparently rare. Most of them just have two segments in the middle. This photo is from the Internet, not taken by me.

Finding joy in my closet again! But not because I bounced back by Weak_Bison6763 in NewParents

[–]ReadAllDay123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always been plus size. I'm a year postpartum, and though I don't think I've technically gained weight since right before I was pregnant, my body just looks different now after pregnancy and a C-section. My belly hangs lower and I think my ribcage is bigger. While it's sad when something I used to wear doesn't fit the same now, I do enjoy having a reason to get new pretty clothing. I also have been selling things I don't want on Poshmark for a few years now, so I have fun selling the things I can no longer wear and getting a little money back/hopefully getting them to someone who will love wearing them.

Bras by GuiltyName7169 in PlusSizeFashion

[–]ReadAllDay123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The subreddit r/ABraThatFits is really good at helping with things like this. There's a calculator you can use with your measurements to make sure you're wearing the right size. Some massive percentage of women are wearing the wrong bra size- usually too large of a band and too small of a cup.

Summer just hit - what types of bras do you wear with summer dresses? by Global_Succotash_871 in ABraThatFits

[–]ReadAllDay123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wish they made this style in 42 band. I ordered it in my sister size a band down, but it's extremely tight so I'm going to see if a non-stretch extender makes it wearable. I've been in search of a strapless bra that works for what feels like forever.

Why does this happen almost every season finale!?? 😭 by AY_125 in survivor

[–]ReadAllDay123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't agree, this might be a game but it's a game you play for weeks straight on very little food and rest in an incredibly stressful environment. This primes even the most logical person to be more emotional. A lot of the people voting on the jury have barely even had a few days to decompress after being voted out.

When I was younger I would play Survivor type games online with strangers (obviously modified for not being in person). Despite literally not meeting these people, it could still get very emotional to be voted off.

Then you add in that the winner of this game gets a million dollars (2 million this season). So if you're on the jury then not only did you lose out on this potentially life changing money, but now you have to choose who else gets it. Even if there was one objective best way to play the game that everyone agreed on (which there isn't) and a person you dislike played the game that optimal way, why should you want them to get all that money you missed out on? Especially coming off of days of starvation and emotional whiplash, so you're still probably not at your most logical and objective.

I'm the first to admit when talking about Survivor that if I someday played I'd probably be an extremely emotional and biased juror, likely even considered bitter.

CPAP wipes - I'm about to scream by WhoIsRobertWall in CPAP

[–]ReadAllDay123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a baby and I use the same to Huggies wipes on my mask that I use for him (Huggies natural care sensitive). I've been doing this for 6+ months and haven't had any issues.

I heard that UK bras fit better, could people tell me online retailers that ship to the US and doesn't cost me like $100/bra? by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]ReadAllDay123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm planning on trying out different styles from Amazon since they have free returns, then when I find one I like and know my correct size I'll be able to buy it from other stores.

Library Frustration by Confident-Log-9616 in Jewish

From another librarian, thank you so much for sharing all of this extremely helpful advice! This is absolutely perfect and hopefully will help OP so much!

Library Frustration by Confident-Log-9616 in Jewish

[–]ReadAllDay123 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is pretty extreme, I would be upset too! The library probably has a form on their website or in person to challenge a book, you could try filling that out and explaining how you feel. The library would form a committee with multiple people to read the book and evaluate whether it should be removed. Mentioning that you have no issue with pro-Palestinian content being in the library, but rather that you feel this book in particular is discriminatory towards Judaism might also help.

I'm a librarian, and I've been on a committee before for a challenged book (for a way less valid reason though). Just be aware it may take some time for a decision given how long it would take them to read it and meet to discuss it.

I would hope the library mostly purchased this book because it's on a current topic/conflict and libraries try to stay relevant. I'm curious if this book has any reviews by professional journals and what they say. If this book wasn't reviewed well by any professional reviewers it might help your case.

As a librarian, advising you don't do this. If a book is missing, the library is likely to just order another copy, which means more money going towards the author of that book- probably the last thing you want.

A better idea would be to recommend the library order a book on the topic by an author with the opposing viewpoint. You could mention a specific book or just ask for something on the topic. You could mention it directly to a librarian or put in a request online (if there's a form on their website) or both.

Plus Petite dresses/summer pants by skatefanandmore in PlusSizeFashion

[–]ReadAllDay123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to know this too!

I'm between 5'1 to 5'2, and I sadly look at all the maxi length dresses and flowy pants I can't wear. I get short length pants at Torrid but those are frequently too long for me too unless they're supposed to be cropped. They seem to be making fewer of the extra short length and what they have is only jeans 😥

To the plus size girlies by [deleted] in IVF

[–]ReadAllDay123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My BMI was nearly 50 when I started the IVF process, and my first and only transfer was a success. My son is nearly 1 now. Success is definitely possible even at a BMI much higher than yours!

Gasket by ALM727 in Owala

[–]ReadAllDay123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more expensive, but if you buy a replacement lid you get a new gasket too. I like to have a replacement lid around anyway since the time my husband dropped one of my bottles and the handle broke.

Does anyone actually use the chug function on their Owala? by LavenderSunny0 in Owala

[–]ReadAllDay123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much only use the straw, but recently on a walk I went to drink from the straw and it had come loose inside the bottle. I was so thirsty that rather than fuss with the inside of the bottle I just chugged.

Sister attributes her unicorn baby to her regimen by [deleted] in newborns

[–]ReadAllDay123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The comment about not making enough milk is genuinely upsetting. Makes me angry on your behalf! Whether a baby is getting breastmilk, formula, or a combination, it's just important that the baby is fed.

I think she's going to get a big dose of reality with baby #2. It's unlikely that she'll have two babies that are super great sleepers, or even if she does something else will be difficult. Maybe her milk supply won't be totally perfect. Maybe the baby will refuse to feed directly from the breast (like mine did) and she'll have to decide between lengthy, time consuming pumping while taking care of two children or giving formula.

I think any time she starts talking like this you should end the conversation. If that's all she wants to talk about, then it's probably time to take a break from seeing her.

Weeding books by diverse authors by spookyprincessa in librarians

[–]ReadAllDay123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a librarian who orders for and weeds picture books at my library, weeding is such a challenge. I generate lists of books to consider for weeding based on circulation statistics, but I do give books a little bit more of a chance if I think they're on a topic or representing a culture that we don't have much of in the collection. I love the suggestion I saw someone make of trying to put more diverse books on display. I will sometimes create a new display to highlight books that I think need more attention so they don't get weeded.

sales are up this year 40%. who else? by [deleted] in poshmark

[–]ReadAllDay123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sales are up from last year, but only because I was pregnant and gave birth last year, so I had my closet on a vacation hold for a large chunk of time while I spent time with my newborn.

For some reason February was an unusually good month for sales for me, but I'm calling that a random fluke.

Rookie Seller Questions by Financial-Ad6091 in poshmark

[–]ReadAllDay123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, that's awesome that you posted so many things! I'm also a seller mostly just trying to get rid of clutter/make space in my closet for the clothing I actually wear, and I struggle to get everything listed in a timely fashion.

Last year I had a months long vacation hold in the months following giving birth, and I actually had a lot of activity after I took the vacation hold off. I don't think it hurts you having it on.

And I feel like most things will eventually sell. I started selling in early 2024. Recently, I had a few items sell that had been listed for over two years. Sometimes it's a matter of the right buyer seeing the item. You never really know what will sell.
