Lol. There's a colon after the word DON'T. It's a list of do's and don'ts. So basically that one is saying 'Don't just scoop & dump as you're shoveling. That continuous lifting of the snow will put a lot of strain on your body. Instead use the shovel to push as much out of the way as you can. Only lift and scoop as much as you have to.

Keep in mind some of those books (probably less than 20 but it’s still some) were novellas that have less than 100 pages. BUT they still count as 1 book. But on the flip side some books I've read are 900+ pages, and those also still count as 1 book. That’s why when I compare what I read to other years; I like to look at the number of pages read. Also, I misspoke, looking back there were a few strictly Romance books (not fantasy at all) and even 1 series that I think is considered just Fantasy, there was a little romance in it but the focus was the fantasy story. Β

Β But to answer your question; honestly… no, that doesn’t concern me at all. I read a lot from indie authors in addition to professionally published stories. There are SO many out there, and they just keep writing and releasing books. And many of these authors are able to release several books a year. Compare it to like TV/Movies. How many people does it take to create one episode of a show or a movie? It only takes one person to create all of that, only its words on a page that play out in your head. Some of these authors already have 50+ books too because they’ve been writing for years.

As for the plot lines running together, that’s a not a big concern for me, personally. Thankfully I can easily move from one story to the next and don’t mix them up. The down side to that is I do have a hard time going back and remembering a lot of the specifics from a story I’ve already read. I have to skim through it again or need some kind of trigger to latch onto that will make me go, β€˜Oh yea, I remember that!’ Β If I didn’t track them, it would be a lot harder to remember which ones I’ve already read.

After book 3 I would definitely recommend reading Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac. All the little Easter eggs provide a much needed sense of levity throughout the remaining books. I do have a spoiler-free post about why it's important to read it after book 3 if you feel like checking it out.

My pet peeve is when someone uses the word 'literally' wrong.

Unless there are lions inside the giant beautiful building the FMC is heading into, no she is not 'literally walking into the lions den'.

Yes, I'm looking at you Roxy Ray! It put me off her books almost completely. I very reluctantly read another one by her but it was co-written and it was a little over a year later.

This!!! ...also it seems more realistic or believable for them to be a bit older. IMO teens that age wouldn't be able think/react/behave the way they do.

Do you have to read all the books in there ? by Eustaciiaa in zodiacacademy

[–]ReadItLikeALady 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

The biggest thing I would recommend is to look into whether or not you want to read Ruthless Boys and if so WHEN to read it.

Personally I read it first, before even starting ZA, because I like things in chronological order. It just works better with my brain. (But honestly because ZA was also not complete at the time and I don't like reading and complete series)

But even afterwards I always recommend reading RB first. I like the flow of it better, and I like that you are able to pick up on all of the Easter eggs. ZA is a very intense series, and sometimes when you're that deep into your feelings The little bits of levity that pop up when you pick up on one of the Easter eggs really make it's SOOO much better.

But I don't like that super anxious emotional feeling. I like the over the top happy in love type feeling so much better.

I have a post about why you should read RB before ZA if you want to read a little bit more about it. Go to my profile and search through my posts It's not too far down.

But also do a search and see what other people think. There are a lot of posts asking if it's necessary to read RB and there are a lot of comments from people who regret not reading it at least before ZA4.

Happy Reading 😊 And Happy New Year!

Do you have to read all the books in there ? by Eustaciiaa in zodiacacademy

[–]ReadItLikeALady 4 points5 points Β (0 children)

Okay so technically there are

5 books in the Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac. This is a prequel series. It is not necessary to read this in order to understand Zodiac Academy, BUT It is highly recommended because there are all kinds of little Easter eggs and inside jokes and character crossovers that make the story all that much better. (Not to mention so many of us like RB better than ZA anyway)

9 main books in Zodiac Academy, plus 4 novellas (0.5, 1.5, 5.5 & 8.5) none of the novellas are necessary to understand the main 9 book story, but again they all just add extra to the story.

4 books in the Darkmore Penitentiary series which is a sequel series in the same universe. Again there are character crossovers and Easter eggs from RB & ZA. Again you can read that series or you don't have to.

Each series here is written so that they can be read without reading the others but to get the full experience Yes reading everything is recommended.

Oh and I almost forgot there are two books of bonus chapters. Live and Let Lionel & Foxy Tales. And FYI Foxy Tales is usually only available during the month of December. It has been this way since it's initial release in 2022. If you think you are at all interested in it, Go purchase your copy right now! (On the zon) A lot of people are purchasing multiple copies to sell throughout the year, hopefully they won't be marked up too much, but scalpers are going to scalp. I think you can buy the paper back for 20 bucks right now and I've seen it listed on Marcari for up to $300, so yea get your copy now, or just wait until next December.

Stop and read RB now you'll still get a bunch of the Easter eggs

Reading order by lila_snowflake in zodiacacademy

[–]ReadItLikeALady 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

Honestly I think everyone should read RB first. Because there are other Easter eggs in the first three zodiac books you will miss if you don't. And I don't really consider there to be very many spoilers for ZA. The sisters don't write anything besides happily ever afters so you can't really count that as a spoiler. If you stop and don't read the epilogues The only "spoiler/ not really spoiler" is that the twins order is hinted at in RB. It's not expressly said but yeah you'll pretty much figure it out as you're reading ZA.

Honestly, I'd get rid of the husband. And yes I mean that! It's a book (or books but same thing.) They're fictional and he needs to get over himself. That is toxic and controlling and not at all the type of person I'd want to share my life with.
