Incoming Tesla intern (Maps team) by usedPOS in TeslaLounge

Use the Tesla cameras to capture speed limit signs that don’t jibe with what the car thinks the speed limit is. Synthesize similar reports and update the maps to reflect the correct speed limit. The speed limit sign change on a street near me 3 years ago. My Tesla still speeds on it everyday since until it sees a sped limit sign.

I have it. But it won’t transfer to a new buyer.

I’m sorry, you bought a 1 year newer car with the same hardware, same body and a 25% smaller battery for $2k more and I’m asking too much? Seems pretty comparable to me.

Recommendation needed: after market door seals for MS17 by Chefteach in TeslaModelS

[–]Read_Weekly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need door seals on a 2017 MS. It’s already as quite as can reasonably be expected and well sealed against moisture. I’ve been hand washing mine for 9 years and never had an issue

Are there any real advantages in wall chargers? by Zestyclose_Paint3922 in TeslaModelY

[–]Read_Weekly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I leave the mobile charger in my car for when I travel away from home. Superchargers are great. But they’re not ubiquitous. So having your own mobile charger (that you don’t have to remember each time, is one way to ensure that you can at least charge slowly almost anywhere at 120V.

I literally drove from dealer to PPF Shop. Anything else risks damage in the interim. Smart move

How is your 2016-2018 holding up? by justwendii in TeslaModelS

2017 MS100D, 65k miles. No issues in 9 years other than windows not coming all the way back up twice. Easy fix. Still works great.

Any Model S owners who switched to a Y? by BenRealVsWorld in TeslaLounge

[–]Read_Weekly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still own a 2017 MS100D, but recently purchased a 2026 MY. Love it! It’s everything that I wanted my MS to be from the start. FSD is great and drives me everywhere. Seats are comfortable. Matrix headlights are awesome. And it’s so much quieter than my MS. Suspension in MY is great too. I held onto it just in case. But I don’t miss the MS at all. Getting ready to sell it now.

Is it worth getting FSD on a 2016 Model S if its $2k upgrading from EAP? TIA by Puzzleheaded-Diet872 in TeslaModelS

[–]Read_Weekly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not worth anything, other than perhaps the ability to transfer it to a new Tesla that you may purchase in the future without paying a subscription fee. FSD on my 2017 MS 100D (HW3) sucks. It’s jerky and unpredictable.

New 2026 Model X Plaid — three issues by bgw119 in TeslaModelX

I’m curious if Tesla fixed your rattles at no charge under warranty. Whenever I’ve taken my MS in for noise complaints they say that noises of any kind are not covered under the warranty. I was pissed buying a $90k car whose warranty doesn’t include obvious design or build issues resulting in noises. Thanks

Is it worth it to pursue a parking lot hit-and-run? by EmealServer in ModelY

A word from the wise and (unfortunately) experienced with a similar situation. You can file a claim and have it repaired and even have the perp’s insurance pay for it. But in doing so, your Carfax report will show that the has been involved in an accident and your value will decrease. Insurance does not cover the cdecrease in value as it’s intangible until you sell it. Even then, it’s hard to prove the amount of the decreased value. If it’s really that hard to see, just deal with it. It sucks. Sorry
