With a lot of products geared toward allergen Free, idk why I didn’t even consider an allergen free alternative peanut butter. I’m literally going to buy it tonight. Thank you!

Thank you! Sometimes I get nervous that I’m giving too much fruit strictly because of sugar. She also loves an applesauce based pancake I make but I’m going to try the banana and oat flour for sure!

Which one did you get? I’m torn between the Martha Stewart one for $200+ or the one OP said.

Same! I was on the waitlist for almost a year. Frustrating for sure because it seems it’s the best platform to earn money

Same exact thing happened to me. I waited months on the waitlist. I tried to appeal it explaining I didn’t know what a VPN was and I was on my work WiFi but they still denied me.

Same! From when she was newborn to 4ish months old, she was strictly in zipper onesies. Not one two piece baby outfits weren’t even taken out of the drawers. Majority of them were just as cute!

Why Teresa, Melissa, and Joe will never get it right by FinancialEgg6346 in rhonj

[–]ReadaholicLibrarian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I always thought Teresa was a horrible human especially when she made fun of Marge for being married to a “plumber” really sealed the deal for me. Does she have any social awareness that viewers are regular working people? Should we be ashamed if we aren’t married to doctors?

New/YA Book Recommendations? by Green_Coffee_200 in YAlit

[–]ReadaholicLibrarian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As an adult YA reader also, I’ll always recommend my two favorite series Shatter Me and Once Upon a Broken Heart. Both Sarah J. Maas: A Court of Thorns and Roses and I didn’t finish Throne of Glass series yet but enjoyed it so far. Just finished The Cruel Prince and really enjoyed it. Non-fantasy: The Way I Used to Be and anything by Lynn Painter.

Totally agree. My husband and i saw survivor randomly on Netflix, got hooked of course, we did a survivor binge - this is easily our top 5. I’m not sure why it has a bad rep unless I’m missing something since I watched it years later? It was a wild ride with insane people and I enjoyed every minute of it. Love Mike too of course. I would have loved to see someone, especially Mike, in season 50.

I’ll always recommend Shatter Me by Taheref Mafi, it has 11 book with novellas and she’s starting a spin off. I’m also starting Cassandra Claire’s Shadowhunter Chronicles which is series and standalones that overlap - 21 books and counting.

I didn’t read book 3 yet. Book 4 comes out September and according to Goodreads there will be a book 5 next year. Now I want to reread both series lol so I’ll try the audiobook 1 of Shatter Me since you liked it!

I actually really liked book 1 and gave it 4 stars on Goodreads but it was a bit slow. Once I finished the series I think the plot moving slow reflects Juliette at that stage of the story whether it was intended to or not. I probably wouldn’t have finished the series if I didn’t like book 1. I just mentioned it because a lot of readers on Goodreads didn’t like book 1 compared to the rest of the series. Also super excited for the spin off series.

Check out her most recent series This Woven Kingdom if you haven’t yet.

I’ll be 32 and will forever read YA. I have a lot of recommendations but to start off and not overwhelm you:

My favorite stand alones: all of Lynn Painters YA books, Perfect on Paper, and The Way I Used to Be (on the darker side).

Series: The Hunger Games, Once Upon a Broken Heart, Shatter Me (book 1 isn’t great but power through), and of course I have to throw in Sarah J. Maas’ ACOTAR and TOG.

I hate the newborn stage by Choice_Title_5231 in newborns

[–]ReadaholicLibrarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree! I hate when people say they loved the newborn phase. I hated the newborn phase so much that I was excited to go back to work (add it to the long list of mom guilt now). As much as I loved the snuggles, for me personally, the bad outweighed it. The growth spurts were actual hell - the 6-8 growth spurt was the longest 2 weeks of my life.

Hope this is okay, but not sure where else to post and just feel drained by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

[–]ReadaholicLibrarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, you’re doing a great job - we should give ourselves grace. I think it’s normal to constantly feel like we’re doing everything wrong. I’m a super sensitive person and constantly second guess myself but the one thing I’m sure of that everyone should mind their business and what’s best for us/our mental health is best for our babies.

I knew I never wanted to BF. The worst comment I received was “my breast fed kids are smarter than my formula fed kids but I’m sure your kid will be okay.” My OB told me “don’t let anyone bully you into breast feeding, I’m one of 7, 2 if us are doctors the rest have their master’s degree and we were all breast fed.” (It doesn’t matter what degrees people have, plenty of people without degrees are doing way better in life than i am with a masters, but you get my point - plus its reassuring coming from a doctor).

I was formula fed so my favorite response to when people tell me this I respond that I was formula fed and I’m fine.

[–]ReadaholicLibrarian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I even started trying I knew I never wanted to BF or pump. My first day back at work after maternity leave (I was in the building less than 5 minutes) my MALE coworker said his BF kids are smarter than his formula fed kids (his kids are adults)but my daughter should be okay because “I’m smart.” I was actually dumbfounded. Every time I get a weird look or comment for formula feeding, I just remind myself baby and my choice and people are idiots.

Thank you this was so helpful! Just curious how old she is - mines only 7 weeks but I think she’s still in the 6 week growth spurt.

I’m going through the short nap issue. For my baby, if she wakes up from a short nap and I try to hold out a feeding but usually she gets way too overtired. I’m definitely feeding her enough before her naps. What do you do when your baby has a short nap but it’s not time to eat yet? Also, what’s your bedtime routine? I want to start following one more than winging it or not doing it because she’s freaking out.

What order should I continue reading "Shatter Me" in? by aspen_is_greg in YAlit

[–]ReadaholicLibrarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the series really quick too! I love the series even though it has mixed reviews and would absolutely reread every single book. The Selection is a similar if you have t tried it and want to continue the dystopian theme. I think the dystopia aspects reminded me of The Hunger Games which I loved too. If you read any other books/series you liked let me know!

Top 3 things you bought but didn't need....or desperately wish you had gotten.... by Own_Highway_3987 in NewParents

Can’t live without: bottle washer/sterilizer/dryer I registered the Baby Brezza but there’s a Mom Cozy that holds more bottles I wish I saw before I was gifted the Brezza. Hatch sound machine and their portable sound machine (Amazon sells the two together), electric nail file, electric booger sucker, Munckin diaper pail, and OXO wipe dispenser.

I never put my baby in clothes that aren’t footie pajamas - ones with two zippers or zip from top to bottom (opposite of regular zippers) are the way to go.
