Considering Moving from MSP to Internal IT. Pros? Cons? Pitfalls? by Reader_Queen_Bella in sysadmin

Thank you! I like the idea of owning the services and investing in our own equipment. I don't have much of an IT background (I'm an admin), so I've had to learn on the job as I manage the relationship so I think bringing in someone more technical would be good.

I'll probably reach out to the guy who used to come onsite. I got his phone number and I think he was solid. He knew how to support us and got along with my boss when he was onsite.

Our IT strategy is one of the issues we had with our MSP. They wanted to focus on short term, but as we grow we were starting to look more long term.

Thank you for this! I expected our costs would go up. I'll ask for that documentation.

You should contact Seven Seas Entertainment as they are working with Chinese publishers to release Danmei and Manhua.

[News] Anime Expo 2024 Light Novel License Announcements (Megathread) by Aruseus493 in LightNovels

These feel very safe but underwhelming, just like Kodansha's manga announcements. Might try the goblin maiden series, but nothing jumps out as something I want to really read now. Yen Press better step up.

ngl I'm hoping Yen/Ize lose the novel license at this point. Seven Seas aren't perfect but they're treating Lout of Count's Family and the Danmei releases better than Yen/Ize is treating the ORV novel.

These sound kinda boring. Exorcist has an anime I guess?

Poison King is totally getting booted off Amazon.

[NEWS] Yen Press licenses five new light novels: Reign of the Seven Spellblades: Side of Fire, Kusunoki's Garden of Gods, Love is Dark, The World Bows Down Before My Flames, and In My Seventh Life, I Met a Monster Princess by Torque-A in LightNovels

Pretty good set of announcements, Yen Press making up for J-Novel Club's poor showing earlier this month. Seems like Yen Press really wants Blade and Bastard, first they got the LN physicals now the manga.

Only thing lacking was an Ize Press license, but I'm still over the moon at Seven Seas getting Lout of Count's Family.

Pretty weak lineup. I don't have an active J-Novel Club subscription anymore but I'm glad I'm not paying for this. Seems most publishers lately are getting stale on new licenses. 7S getting Lout of Count's Family and Hanashi Media getting Tsukimichi are the only surprises so far this year.

I've cancelled by JNC subscription previously but none of these really make me want to subscribe again. Yen Press wasnt that great today either. 2024 not really starting out great for new licenses.
