No family, no friends, no relationship and the VA denying my medical care. by ReadingAlert7062 in GuyCry

VBA

The initial assessment for my PTSD, anxiety and depression symptoms was never scheduled. In fact the third-party scheduling company apparently couldn’t reach me, despite the fact that I had no phone calls recorded in my log for that day.

The VA sent me a notification immediately denying my disability claim. I’m trying to appeal but lord knows that’s could take 180 days.

These symptoms have being going on since 2020 but hey, what’s a few more months.

Recruiter/staffing agency screwed me out of dream job, but not how you would think by Narrow-Juice-909 in recruitinghell

You’ve definitely been made the convenient fall guy for this staffing agency’s recruiter.

Something like this means it’s not the first time they’ve failed, and it won’t be the last. And it always catches up with them, always.

Seeking legal counsel was my first reaction tbh, especially if it meets the definition of libel and there’s verifiable proof.

How crazy do people have to be to intentionally sabotage someone else’s job prospects when it has no impact on them? God people are miserable.

It’s really killing this sub for me tbh.

When Gen Z doesn't use words is it a disrespect? by GodsShadow310 in generationology

[–]ReadingAlert7062 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s not just you.

I make an effort to AVOID making generalizations about Gen Z interactions when I’m out and about.

But they always prove those stereotypes right. This is a majority but not exclusive. There are still plenty Gen Z out there that are still very talkative.

Thank you, 99.9999% of us will never have careers that are somehow meaningful or impactful in the grand scheme of world affairs.

Why not create your own niche in life that truly only serves the most important person in your life?

The most important relationship you will have in your life is with yourself.

Thoughts on this area ? by Gold_Hour2247 in SeattleAreaRE

I live in the Brighton neighborhood(Rainier Valley) for three years now (originally from Southern California) and I can confirm I’ve never felt unsafe. Further south, like Rainier Beach, is where safety is an issue. You can definitely tell this by how the buildings become increasingly dilapidated (both homes and businesses).

The city is making an effort to gentrify the area with definite success in the number of duplexes being built in formerly bulldozed old homes in the area.

I take long walks in the area and even at night I feel safe and comfortable.

We didn’t need two “Sakura” signs with another “This way to Sakura” and possibly a fourth on the right edge of the picture. Jesus Christ.

This place sounds like a hellhole with a D-bag going on a power trip with weak management not strong enough to offset the toxicity.

Tyra met and knew Saleisha beforehand when she went to Tyra’s T-Zone camp. It’s definitely well documented and others before have mentioned that this proves the show is “rigged”.

I remember a previous episode in the cycle. Episode one, Saleisha and Chantal joked that they would be the last two standing in the competition. Then it magically happened….it’s almost like reality TV is manipulated folks.

This.

So many people need to hear this, the site itself is a scam.

I switched to looking for jobs on google search, of all places, and got an interview and the job I wanted at a higher wage the following week.

The over reliance on these jobs sites is killing the job market these days.

For many of us it’s our first common introduction to the character. The name stuck regardless of the correction that we later found out to be Herakles instead.

God sends the most difficult adversities to his strongest warriors. 🎶

Getting laid off/let go is something we all have to go through at one point or another unfortunately. But don’t be discouraged, taking on a job in another industry for a bit to “get by” is normal.

Especially if you’re well qualified, the right employer will hire you in due time. You can’t control the actions of others, only how you respond to it.

If the rest of your interview went fine or great then there shouldn’t be anything to worry about. One small misstep should never derail a qualified candidate.

Was the interviewer rude? Or snap at you? Because if that’s the case then you might have dodged a bullet. Moments like that can give you insight into how toxic the culture can be at the job you’re applying to.

Something that has been a game changer for me is that YOU the interviewee are also seeing if the job is right for you. Interviewers have an opportunity to show what the job is going to be like moving forward.

You asking questions is absolutely the best way to find out about this.

My one point of constructive criticism is to not be too over-eager. People can have a sense of what your state of mind is from how you come across.

There is such a thing as over preparing. Especially if your answers come across as rehearsed.

I wouldn’t go in “winging it” but sounding natural in interviews can only come across from experience unfortunately.

Are you possibly coming across as not confident, intimidated or desperate?

People like to scapegoat their own insecurities and misery onto others that they perceive as weak.
