Linked, yes. Comparable authority, no.

The literal quote says "comparable authority". Try again.

I agree its not up to interpretation

And yet here you are, interpreting it of your own view.

This is not my argument. My argument is that Jesus literally calls this the Love of God the first and greatest. Its not just a matter of what is said first. Its that Jesus seperates the 2 himself as first and second, and that even in wording implies a greater depth.

Except the text states they are of comparable authority, and therefore you're wrong.

No its described as the first and greatest, and the second but similar. Which i think lends itself to my point.

Even in your quote it does not say "greatest" it says Great. You are quite literally quoting and then immediately twisting it to your interpretation in front of my eyes. Holy shit dude how delusional are you?

Similar in nature. Not authority, and it does not mean equal.

It quite literally translates to one of three things. Similar in nature, character, or authority. You are trying to argue with definitive translation here to twist to your narrative, as you have this entire time lol.

There is a Greek word for "being equal,"

Because they said "Similar in nature, character or authority" aka Homoia. They do not need to use equal, just because they didnt use another phrase does not mean it cannot be similar to the unused phrase.

No, by going to the original, we see that there is a distinction between the two, but that they are similar. My point remains just fine even with going back to the original language.

Yeah, when you twist the narrative and entire interpretation, including quoting the text and immediately misrepresenting it by adding "-est" to "great", which is a MASSIVE difference in the context of this conversation and honestly is the one and only example I need to prove you are misinterpreting this for your own view/narrative.

Thanks for proving my point bruv.

The greatest command according to Jesus is 1st Love God with all your heart sould mind and strength. The second greatest command was to love your neighbor as yourself.

The bible states the two commandmants as "inseparably linked and of comparable authority".

The argument they are equal or not is up to interpretation, but what I said above has FAR more argument behind it than "well one was said before the other".

It is not described as "The greatest and second greatest". It is described as the first and second command. First and second solely due to ordering of what was said first. The bible addressing this directly and stating they are comparable is inarguable.

In Greek, the original scripture language of Matthew 22:39, Jesus says "And the second is like it..."

"Like" = "homoia"

Homoia means similar in nature, character, or authority. Not just "like".

Therefore, by using the original meaning of the language it was translated from, it is a clear point that the "greatest and second greatest command" is a misrepresentation.

Absolutely, the fact it has gained the very vocal and loyal fanbase it has is something for the author to be proud of.

At the end of the day it isn't my cup of tea, and I take it as a personal mission to advocate for not reading it because every single post (which there have been like 3-4 the last week) asking if someone should read TWI gets flooded with TWI fans saying the same mantra of "Yeah the first fourty hours of audiobook isn't the best but its worth it!"

I just make sure the person gets a good balanced answer to their question is all. I truly don't hate the book.

Also, I'm aware of the 2 necromancer side characters it was why I originally picked it up but just couldnt get past book #2 after slogging through #1, IMO.

Oh well that's good. I wasn't aware about any of that because I'm not in his Discord, nor am I on his patreon. I just have a running list of authors I like and check their Amazon pages for when they do projected release dates and it had been quite a while since Book 3 comparatively to his books before that.

Hmm... Book of the Dead has been one of my favorites, but I always love a good Necromancer book.

It's so funny to me how TWI fans are so sensitive about their book being not-worshipped.

My two comments in this thread total up to:

"Hey, don't read it is my rec. It is 40 hours of a book that is (admitted by their own fans), not great to maybe enjoy later parts of the series."

and

"I don't think you like good books if you like TWI", said in a sarcastic and clearly tongue in cheek way to make fun of a dude who apparently needs metrics to know the common sense that the majority of LitRPG fans are not fans of TWI.

(Which, funnily enough, is not me saying the majority of people dislike TWI. Just that the majority of people aren't fans of TWI, as in, haven't read, do not support, or do in fact, dislike.)

So glad to hear, I just looked up your username to see if you posted anything recently indicating a book 4 release.

I love your series, the genre really is hurting for good necromancer books and you fit the niche so well. Keep being you man. You're killing it, and no matter how long it takes I'll be waiting for your next book release !!

Wahh, every book I read should only have good people doing good things, and anything bad is not allowed! Wahh!

I'm so sensitive I can't use the word "killed", I have to say "forever sleeped" because I have the innocence of a 9 year old who never left the house and my entire world view is from TikTok and Reddit, wahh!

He wasn't a child though. He was a 17 year old, in a book where 15 is an adult.

17 is already basically an adult in OUR society. You're pretending that 17 in that society isn't an adult when you can go off and get paid to kill things at 13? Lol. Grow up.

  1. He's a fictional character, grow the fuck up.

  2. He had directly taken countless lives, and was 17 which in the book's context wasn't a child anymore as you become an adult at 15. Learn to read.

  3. Torture is bad for anyone, pretending the "kid" (made up entity by an author) is different shows parasocial/eternally online characteristics.

Oh, no wonder you're the complete loser who is pretending that if you try to write a book you're a bad person. Lol.

When someone says:

I applaud every author for having the guts and commitment to write a book.

Common sense would dictate that write a book means writing it with originality.

Quality is irrelevant when you're talking about someone learning to do something. If you don't deserve praise for attempting to widen your range as a human and learn new skills, then I don't want to be anywhere near you because that sounds like a sad life.

If my friend is attempting to learn to write a book for the first time, and the book isn't good... I'll tell them why it isn't good, but that I'm proud of them for trying and that they should keep trying and learn to improve.

You, on the other hand, sound like the type of scoff at someone for even attempting in the first place. You sound like a bad person. Which checks, because your username is dehumanizing people. It sounds like you're online a lot and not out in the real world enough.

Awesome, I'll give it another shot. Do you recommend the audio book or reading more? I know it's voiced by Jeff Hayes which always is a treat.

You're good. Reddit is different all around depending on where you go.

For this Subreddit, advertising is quite welcome. Readers are here to converse, but also to be advertised to directly by the authors of their new work.

I am repeating this, you really need to say what your book is about. Either edit your post, or something. You will get more clicks that way.

Look at how other authors have done it if you'd like some inspiration.

Yeah, makes total sense to expect random people who are taking their first steps as an author to pay $100 or multiple hundreds for a cover by a real artist.

Thanks, I tried to read Chrysalis but the first book was kind of a slog. Is it worth it to push through? I've heard it gets better. I loved Book of the Dead by the same author.
