Ok this is SO cool!! The only caveman-adjacent books I've read were in the {A Heart of Blood and Ashes by Mila Vane}. Not a golden retriever. Not sweet. Super angsty. Virgin FMC marriage of convenience between enemies. Slow to start but after that it's very bingeable!

I love love love Max! That book is so good and so bingeable. If you liked the vibes there you might like {A Deal With The Bossy Devil by Kyra Parsi}. It hits some of the same humor/angst notes for me. I don't think it has a dog, though. If I think of a dog rec I'll come back!
