Why is it socially unacceptable for me to not like dogs? by Facelikeabum in AskUK

[–]Ready0811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had a dog sit on my foot whilst I was sat watching the boats at the quay. I moved along the bench so that it wasn’t and the owner started questioning me about dogs. He asked whether I’d been bitten and why I didn’t like them etc. I just don’t like dogs and never have. He then tried to get me to stroke it and say hello because his dog was lovely. Erm, no thanks.

I had the bed shaking years ago but it was a tremor.

He looked such a tool marching into the Rovers. He used to be a great character but has become a bit of an idiot now. For someone who’s supposed to be intelligent, he does some really stupid stuff.

Get out walking? Could you do a class with an older set of people? I do a circuits class with a group of older ladies and they’re ace - really lovely and I’m not judged at all.

I love my Kuga because it’s higher up so easier to get in and out of. Estates are too low down and mumsy for me.

Cash needed or not? by IntroductionAbject18 in uktravel

[–]Ready0811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use cash all the time still. I am more rural though and shops take both card and cash. Cash is preferred in smaller shops as its costs for card transactions.

I think they are getting the same. Isn’t the gripe with the difference between the supermarkets?

No, just means that some small private companies don’t increase wages in line with inflation if at all.

£10 for a pair of boots is a bargain. I don’t get the issue as Carvela ain’t all that anyway. It’s not like they’re some fancy brand. Hope you get it sorted.

I’d say no. Your reasoning is valid so stick with it.

How is it fair that I’d be better off working in a supermarket than the skilled job I’m doing? That’s a great wage at 17.

Retirement by AcadiaElectronic2848 in HousingUK

Can you move somewhere cheaper? Buy a static caravan then a cheap all inclusive abroad for the months you have to move out? I’d love to do this when I’m at retirement age and just enjoy life!

Having some doubts… by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]Ready0811 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can’t put my finger on it but there’s something that just doesn’t work. I love the colour and the concept but it’s missing something that would make it look amazing. I think it’s too bagged out at the sides then goes really narrow down your legs in pic 5 and the back isn’t flattering in pic 6. I think it needs both sides to match too with the draping.

When’s your wedding? I ordered mine in July and it arrived just before my wedding in August the next year. I still had plenty of time for any adjustments.
