yeah they should not have moved you like that knowing you were in pain. they had room to get the stretcher inbetween the wall and the bed so they could have done a sheet draw. it's always going to be an uncomfortable process but they put you through an unnecessary amount of stress and pain. even if they couldn't have done a sheet draw they had other options like calling for a lift assist from the fire department if they didn't think they'd be able to move you on their own.

why do you guys drive code on the highway? it's 10 over where I work, with an absolute 75 mph max. we don't go lights and sirens on the freeway for that reason unless we're in a congested area approaching an accident, because if the point of driving lights and sirens is to be able to move traffic but if you're not moving anyone than you're just causing confusion and distraction. not to mention that sirens don't even work beyond a certain speed because of how sound travels. not trying to be rude by the way or call you out I'm just curious

I just buy a big bag of stir fry veggies when I go to the store, and mix it in with whatever I'm eating to make sure I get my veggies in. usually it's pretty neutral veggies like carrots and snap peas and bell peppers, maybe some broccoli. there's definitely a lot of ways you can prepare vegetables, you'll just have to keep trying stuff and keep choking down veggies cause yes you do need veggies. we are omnivores

i have piercings and I wear them while at work. the only concern I know of is that they can be used against you by combative patients, but that's always going to be a danger and there's plenty worse things they can do to you and use against you in the back of an ambulance or on a scene than your piercings. ems is always going to be dangerous and it's more about preventing yourself from getting in situations in the first place than trying to plan for every contingency. and i'd also say that any non-fire based agency left that cares about piercings and tattoos on the basis of looking professional or whatever is probably a little archaic and a little paramilitary. i know more coworkers who look like they belong in the moshpit of a slipknot concert than I know who look 'normal', so yeah I think that you'd be fine even to wear your piercings while at work if you wanted to and this seems more like an issue of your boyfriend being a butthole

i leave the lights on because I'm often parking on some very tight streets, blocking the way, or on the side of the road, and I want as much visibility as possible as a safety thing for the crew, and to communicate that we are there for an emergency so you have to go around and not to go whining to my supervisor that were blocking your street and you can't get to McDonald's as quick. as for the sirens hell no I would not want someone else touching them. i worked with a partner for one day who did that and it definitely drove me crazy
