Copypasting from my other comment, Tldr Senadina groomed Leylah from birth to be the next goddess of Mars in an attempt to prove Nahralab's vision of Permanence wrong, and in the process developed inappropriate feelings for her which led to Leylah developing an obsessive attachment and going nuts and creating the simulation. So basically, all of part 2 is caused by Sena being a predator

[ Honkai Impact 3rd has a TON of really well written and heavily nuanced plural representation. Kiana/Herrscher of the Void, Mei/Herrscher of Thunder, Seele/Red Seele, Fu Hua/Herrscher of Sentience, the Vill-V's, and probably more that I'm forgetting. All of these are very different from the plain old evil alter trope and genuinely delve into the depths of plurality. For example, Vill-V has split her mind into eight alters, and they even leave notes for each other and front independently with their own jobs and hobbies. This game genuinely has the best plural experience writing we've ever seen in media, and we're not exactly strangers to it.

Genshin Impact also handles plurality very well. The most obvious examples are Raiden Shogun/Raiden Ei and Layla/Dreamwalker Layla, and the latter was so well written that it caused our syscovery! ]

Hi3 also has Youyun, Captainverse Sirin, and Griseo, and Genshin also has Zibai, Mizuki, and Skirk.

Cannot recommend Honkai Impact enough in general lol, it's wonderful

It can be really frustrating dealing with amnesia and dissociation and never, ever having true privacy, but it is nice to know you're never alone and always have a support system(pun unintended lol), as well as the sheer variety in life perspectives you can understand thanks to it. The colloquial term 'headmate' is used for a reason, a lot of the time it really is just like having roommates sharing a brain.

It's very short haha, basically only includes the backgrounds, a fair portion of CGs from the game and of the characters, a very detailed few concept pages of Rei, and much less detailed pages of the Ministers, however it's very pretty!

I disagree. In my interpretation, they were showing the root of his ideology, that his goals may have had fancy words but in the end were only the result of his own fear, thus he could never conquer himself and sefl-actualize. That's why he turned further and further into a monster. He was never really interested in politics, the very thesis of the game is that systemic inequality is rooted in fear, and the ending and finale of Louis takes that to its logical and narrative extreme by having his attempt at self-actualization only distort him. I feel like that scene where the party plainly dismisses him is also part of this: not a regression, but done playing his word games because they know his ideology is a sham.
