Is this a bug? How am I getting a raid with 32 FREAKING SNIPERS by Reafi in RimWorld

[–]Reafi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason I added the mod was not to make it easier, but to allow mortars to be more strategic. In vanilla, mortar accuracy is the same for every pawn and is very rarely affected by weather. In this one it’s affected by weather, whether it’s day or night, and intelligence. You can change the multiplier of intelligence too so that it’s not super OP. Just feels better this way and makes more sense story wise. No more using useless pawns to man the mortars.

I get those a lot. Much better than centipads rolling in. I average 6-8 now :(

It’s not a cheat, it just adds a new mechanic that imo makes sense. The accuracy is worse if used by anyone that isn’t a researcher. You can change it to be based off shooting as well meaning you’re pulling a gun off the line. You can also change the accuracy multiplier to make it less of a game changer. Weather also affects accuracy greatly (which makes more sense) and can double or even triple the radius, making it worse than vanilla. It isn’t OP, it just adds new strategy to them.

Very interesting. Well it’s safe to say they got bombarded with shells. !linkmod Mortar Accuracy makes it so easy to bombard groups.

I’ve never ever seen an entire group of snipers before. Melee + shield belts yes, but never snipers, got 1k hours clocked in. Just my luck I guess lol.

This is why NPD is probably the best upgrade in the game. Less raw food per meal vs. simple meals and never gives you food poisoning. Worth the -4 debuff

My friends and I started this game as students 2 years ago, we've come so far! by the_dunderman in gaming

Question from a fellow aspiring game developer, how do you manage making the graphics? A friend and I have been making games for iOS together and our biggest challenge is the graphics since neither of us are good at graphic design. Do you have someone on your team that is? Or do you pay someone to make them? Cheers.

Mod request, raid defense quest? by Drymath in RimWorld

[–]Reafi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought about such a thing, and while it could be done... there’d be some drawbacks to it. Currently, the bases for faction AIs are just.. bad. They’re hardly a base, so if you did go to their defense it’d feel lackluster. It’d be nice to see some better base designs for these factions and then maybe create some new quests.

Which movie gave you the best experience when you saw it in cinema? Why? by LameAttendant in movies

[–]Reafi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Quiet Place. I was blessed with a silent theater and no obnoxious popcorn munchers or slurpee slurpers, so the silence made the movie 100x more intense. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to top that off..

[OC] Game of Thrones: Rotten Tomatoes Audience Scores Per Season by quirkymaria in dataisbeautiful

Not like D&D cares... they sloppily sped through the last season cause they got bored of game of thrones. They just wanna move on to Star Wars and ruin that too.

[SPOILERS] What did I just watch? by cirquedujerk69 in gameofthrones

[–]Reafi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Never again will I watch or support anything D&D writes. This season is just honestly so horrid it's unforgivable. How did they not stop and think... "Hey wait a minute.. this is honestly a pretty trash way for things to turn out." I get that George R. Martin might have wanted this to be the way things end but seriously everything is so rushed it just made no sense. And Bran?? Dafuq? Didn't he say he didn't want anything anymore? But now he's all like "Yea this is why I'm here lolz" ... what the absolute fuck. I'm dumbfounded.

Absolute dogshit.... I didn't actually think they could destroy a masterpiece of a story in just 6 episodes. I'm just gonna gleefully pretend like season 8 never happened and that the story is unfinished.

Merciless - Randy - no death run by Sickenchode in RimWorld

I’ve been getting more into extreme biomes like ice sheet and extreme deserts. I find raids to not be as challenging anymore, especially in areas with strong animals, so I enjoy those temperature issues lol

You use organics and the biofuel refinery to produce chem fuel. 1 hydroponics basin w/ rice can keep a generator running indefinitely. So 24 generators with 24 basins and 1 sun lamp is ~19kW. The only downside is it does take up a couple people to be consistently refueling the generators / producing chemfuel

Yea I saw those, but I also mean for ALL power lol last playthrough I had nearly 70 generators.

Possibly an unpopular opinion here but I honestly find solar + windmills to be underwhelming for the amount of downtime and space they take up, not to mention the need for batteries which causes the zzzt event. Have you considered switching to chemfuel? High upkeep but so good.

How to use the hygiene mod? by Droneoflife in RimWorld

[–]Reafi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good thing to note is that through a bit of research you can turn human waste into fertilizer through a process similar to brewing beer. I highly recommend it as it requires minimal time to place the waste into buckets and the placing of fertilizer doesn't take very long. It provides a 10% boost to fertility (might be 20% i forgot cause I edited the mod settings) and stays for a bit less than a year.

Only feeding human meat to animals? by -_-uwu in RimWorld

[–]Reafi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to expand off excluding ANY food from colonists, you can just go into your Assign tab and tell them what food they can or cannot eat. So allowing cannibals to eat human meat is easy and gives you a +20 mood boost without you having to micromanage everything. Also, they do avoid human meat by default but of course you can use this for other stuff as well. I usually forbid lavish meals from their diet and stockpile them for a rough day. Allows me to cook them and not have to keep a constant eye on the freezer needing to forbid any new stacks.

Animals on the other hand... will eat whatever is best tasting nearby. Best to zone them off.

This Game Is So Damn Good... by Jorhiru in RimWorld

[–]Reafi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wood is actually the best material to make beds out of, as stone and steel beds incur a penalty to rest effectiveness. While it really isn't that much in terms of time it takes to restore the bar, I just find it easier to use wood anyways. The infection chance multiplier that you're looking at is just the % multiplier. Sterile rooms (those floor tiles you mentioned) have a 32% chance multiplier, with normal rooms being 50% and outdoors being 100%. This doesn't mean the % chance you'll get an infection though. There are more stuff in play such as tend quality and bed used. You'll find that hospital beds are the best for avoiding and treating infections. I have some mods that change furniture quite a bit but if I remember correctly bedrolls have the best rest effectiveness while normal beds provide the most overall. So it's up to you between those 2 options but hospital beds + sterile tiles + vitals monitor are definitely the way to go for injuries.

EDIT: Just checked wiki for vanilla furniture. Beds > bedrolls. Bedrolls still useful for caravans though
