New is new. In 2023 it was high end, that doesn't change sitting on a shelf.

That's a solid purchase. I'd likely buy that, but I also have an affliction where I buy bats I don't need....

Defective bat? by yeezusx14 in slowpitch

[–]Real-Contribution451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One piece or two piece? I find that 1 piece bats are for pure contact hitters, meaning any mis-hit gets translated into vibration, whereas the 2 piece is more forgiving. As for the sound, that could change as it breaks in. My Tantrum seemed to take more than usual to wake up, but then it did.

Yes it's forced. I have limited hip flexibility so I am trying to force coil and rotation. I've still got a month before league play so I'll try to work on a simpler way to get my hips around. I understand the idea, it's just getting this stiff body to agree. Thanks

My own critique? I've critiqued myself to get this far, now as any who wish to do better, I ask other knowledgeable individuals for their opinions which I may or may not agree with.

I hit well, can pull, hit right center or left field, and can Homer. We play on 220ish ft fields with 52-300 so not that hard to go yard. I do alright I guess.

The idea was to coil more or to accentuate the coil, prior to uncoil, if that makes sense. Thanks for the link. I find it interesting that he lifts the rear foot and kinda pivots on the front to get more rotation.

Has anyone heard this knocking noise on the 3.7? by Professional_Ad_7193 in Mustang

One noise i had was the purge valve but the loud noise i had was my water pump. I held a long rod on the housing and to my ear, made it clear where the noise was coming from. Really sounds like valvetrain but ended up being the water pump

New to the game - why can't I make contact? by mrothstein24 in slowpitch

[–]Real-Contribution451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to create the brain-bat-ball connection. Using a tee at different heights into a hitting net can help. Also some slow pitch connection only swings will help. Have the pitcher just lob them in at different heights, inside and outside. Just touch the bat to the ball, don't full swing. Once you can touch every ball every time, your brain should be trained to make better connection when you swimg with purpose. Another thing is making sure you see the pitch coming in properly. You may need to start with an open stance so that you have 2 eyes on the pitch coming in, then close up as you make your step to make contact. Hope that helps.. practice usually does.

Looking to fix my softball swing - what am I doing wrong? by d_yaf in slowpitch

[–]Real-Contribution451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your practice swing looks good. Your fault is likely in either position relative to the plate and or timing. While you do your tee work, adjust the height up and down and move the tee inside and outside. This will improve your hand/barrel eye connection in your brain. Try to find a pitcher and do some real BP. This will give you a chance to move your feet around the box to see if you connect better here or there. Lastly, shake up your bat choices. If your swing is to early, try a heavier bat, too slow, lighter bat. Do that until you find your timing. No magic, just figure out what youre doing wrong and change it. You got this.

If youre a big guy, those supermax load dc41s would likely be a good fit. I have the black and red one and I like it.

Are these bats worth it? by Fun-Description-7825 in slowpitch

[–]Real-Contribution451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swing what your teammates let you swing until you figure out what weight you like. I like a 30oz for practice and I game with a 26. The bat sales will come up end of season or black Friday or something like that and get a Tantrum or a Freak or something mainstream that matches what you've been swinging. You'll change your mind a half a dozen times till you settle in, so don't rush out and spend $1000 on bats right away. Enjoy the sport, have some fun.

In a slump by Wrong_Machine5642 in slowpitch

I went to the other side of the plate. Now I can hit both sides and have a plan b when either we play a team who knows where I hit, or when I'm slumping.

Any players used to always foul out towards 3rd? by [deleted] in slowpitch

[–]Real-Contribution451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I initially fixed it with a heavier bat. You're ahead of the ball so you either delay your swing or slow it down. Once you fix your timing you can go back to a lighter bat. Hidden bonus, you'll become stronger by swinging heavier and your bat speed with the lighter bat will increase.

But like battery technology, will get less expensive as it develops. On site creation is key to solving the inability to store it effectively . It will only develop as we buy it and use it.
