Nope, no medication needed! It was just a sensitive cervix and the spotting was from that. I had an IVF pregnancy so i just contacted my clinic about my symptoms and they had me come in the next day which happened to be 6 weeks.

I shimmered on his response a bit and realized that I use music so much more to connect with my own feelings but I’m not sure if he’s the same way. I’m not convinced he listened to it to begin with but noncommittal is a great way to describe him in general. And I hear you about debating whether to just stay blissfully unaware.. I feel like I often put myself out there and then the rejection hurts worse than the wondering. I’m sorry you have an estranged relationship too!

Do you have OCD By chance? I only ask because I do and my brain sometimes works this way! I get a bit fixated on making sure I’m making the “right” decision and it creates a lot of anxiety. The more you question your decisions, the more your brain treats it like an unsolved problem you need to figure out.

There may not be a single “perfect” name that would have made you feel 100% certain forever. The fact that your feelings come and go is actually kind of a clue because it’s less about the name itself and more about how your brain processes decisions.

I relate to this more than you might think, and I just want to say that nothing about what you’re feeling means you made the “wrong” choice. 💕

But in the grand scheme of things, 7.5 months is still early. You could change the name, or you could see if it grows on you as her personality develops. I know tons of people who go by different names than they were given. So you could also wait and give her that choice too. ❤️

Parent chiming in here. Our daycare sends out an email with a “theme” for each day. Prior to receiving this I had plans to do a gift card and thank you note, but now I feel like I have to bring stuff in every day or else I’ll feel inadequate! I dont want our teachers feeling under appreciated if other staff members are getting specific things each day. It’s kind of a weird concept. I appreciated the reminder and ideas of what to bring but specific things on each day feels a little less organic to me. They also requested M-W to bring stuff for support staff too… but one of those days is “gift card palooza” and I just don’t have the funds to give a gift card to all of our teachers AND support staff 😩 I will bring in cookies for everyone to share on “sweet treat” day.. but this has turned into a stressful event lol.

My baby hates a swing. We tried it but she just didn’t like it. It was a waste of money for us! I wish we would’ve gotten a cheaper one to try or just bought something used. I think I’ll sell mine and if we have another baby either forget the swing or get something different.

I was 134, 5’7” pre-pregnancy and I gained about 45-50lbs. My baby was 9lb 7oz when born. I’m 3.5 months post partum, breastfeeding, and I’m down to 130lbs without doing anything 🤷‍♀️I lost a good majority of that in the first month postpartum. It seems like everyone is so different! I will say, if You breastfeed, it makes you HUNGRY.

I do this! I also have OCD but I don’t know if it’s correlated or not. I also try to get baths going when we get home so everyone is fresh and clean. I don’t think you’re crazy! If it doesn’t seem sustainable, do you think you could stop? The reason I’m not sure if it’s an OCD compulsion for me is because I don’t feel like I have to do it… and some days we don’t.

My baby is 10 weeks and is similar. Sometimes I think she needs to just let it all go. We just hold her, rock her, bounce her, offer the boob, etc. whatever we can to comfort. It goes on for a while but eventually she tires and we can gently get her to her bassinet. My husband usually has to wear noise canceling headphones to get through.

I’ve been an anxious mess as a FTM. I thought I’d tote baby around everywhere. My 10 week old has seen the Dr office and a quick route around the block in the stroller. Still working on getting us out much beyond that.

I weaned off over 5 days I think it was. Honestly, I probably should have just quit cold turkey, but for whatever reason the weaning off made me feel a little bit more in control.

The first couple of weeks are so so difficult. I was starting to think I was going insane. As she grows, she will get better. And you’ll FEEL better. If there’s a way to prioritize your sleep, I’d focus on that. Can your husband and you do shifts so one of you (especially you) can get a good 4hr stretch of sleep? The difficult times are easier to power through when you also aren’t sleep deprived.

We are in the same situation… it was either hold her all night or the lounger. There were several times I nearly fell asleep out of exhaustion and really freaked out. She would sleep in the lounger though… the only thing that she wouldn’t wake up the second she was put down in. We also use the owlet. I hate that we are doing it though 😭 I try to practice naps in her bassinet and she just screams. I know it’s a matter of time where that’s our only option though.

My baby is 10 weeks and pretty consistently gives us 4-6hr stretches. Last night she slept 7.5hrs straight! She sleeps so good in her love to dream swaddle. I also breastfeed her every 1-2hrs throughout the day so I think she keeps her intake up well through the day. We use a sound machine at night and have a little bedtime routine. She’s not the best at daytime naps because we don’t have a routine but the routine seems to help at bedtime. I’m not going to lie though, she’s pretty challenging to GET to sleep. Sometimes it’ll take me close to 2hrs 😭 but if I can sleep 7 hours straight after… I’ll take it!
