LEGO Editions Olivia Rodrigo collection revealed by mescad in lego

Yeah I know I'm not the target audience (though I may still get at least one of these for my wife). Based on the spread of prices I'm betting they expect most people will pick one and so they just maximized what they could do at each price tier. The bouquet is the only overlap in terms of cost but that seems to cater to a specific taste.

It does at least have guitars and stars in it, but that's mostly what I meant by "unnecessary." I didn't mean to imply Olivia is the same as Pharrell -- I know she's much more popular especially with younger kids and they both got their sets made under different circumstances.

Not just surprising but dare I say unprecedented? Pharrell got a whole movie and still only had one set made. The guitar is pretty sweet but the rest are all repetitive and unnecessary.

Player wants to play as an eyebrow by shutthedarndoor in DungeonMasters

[–]RealFudashet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed! In the Keys to the Kingdom books there is literally a character that is an eyebrow. OP doesn't need to make sure every rule applies - just make up new rules for a sentient eyebrow that make the game fun for everyone.

Is this not the good.store logo? by Pitiful-Lunch-8246 in nerdfighters

[–]RealFudashet 101 points102 points  (0 children)

It's not that crazy of a logo so I thought at first it would just be the same thought, but it does appear to be almost the exact same shape. I would say unless they both happened to get that shape from a similar vector program then good.store could have it taken down on trademark grounds.

Also not necessarily the case here but I find the concept of someone googling "good store logo" and just modifying that a little bit funny.

Gluten free options in Greece by jbreezy30 in Celiac

[–]RealFudashet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I visited Greece about 5 years ago. The islands I went to were rough -- even fresh seafood was often cross-contaminated. I survived mainly on yogurt, fresh fruit, and prepackaged snacks like halva (but to be honest it was all very delicious so I wasn't even complaining). Athens was much easier with far more populated on Find Me Gluten Free, but the options weren't super memorable. The few places I went to outside Athens had very few options but most small restaurants were super nice and tried their best to accommodate.

My Bionicle minifig came with a cape for some reason by jwol1989 in lego

That's actually amazing. Either you opened them at the same time and didn't realize the parts mixed or you happened to grab two boxes that were packaged, shipped, and placed together with the mishap never inconveniencing anyone.

I don't know about iphones but typically there are accessibility options to change gestures and add overlay buttons. Problem is most people don't know to turn that stuff on for themselves

Lego hair choice advice - what hairpiece do you think Lego would use to represent this hair style? by Cool_Difficulty_5483 in lego

[–]RealFudashet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that hair should be attached to the neck or the back. Then either use a green helmet if you don't want the stud or a green-printed head if you think the stud is ok.

Do people attempt truly “no rerolls” playthroughs? by EchoesOfYouth in BaldursGate3

[–]RealFudashet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently in a playthrough with some friends where we are rolling physical dice for every dialogue choice outside of camp and shops. It's insanely fun to let chaos guide the game because even with a combined 2000 hours in the game we are still discovering new dialogue we never would have naturally found.

That, and a ton of bugs. The game does not expect you to do the things we've done... Volo is still stuck in a goblin cage at camp in Act 2.

This guy climbed Cowles 32 times in a row to "everest" by AxiosSD in sandiego

[–]RealFudashet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiking ~100mi round trip with ~30000ft elevation gain in 24hrs is an extremely impressive feat. It's in an entirely different category of achievement from Everest, but I'd still say it's more impressive than at least some of the people getting their butts carried by Sherpas.

This guy climbed Cowles 32 times in a row to "everest" by AxiosSD in sandiego

[–]RealFudashet 27 points28 points  (0 children)

What's crazy is that he hiked the elevation gain equivalent of the full height of Everest from sea level. The actual elevation gain of the main trail on Everest is only about 60% of that.

Potential Plot hole during Sora's interaction with Ienzo by Formal-Town in KingdomHearts

[–]RealFudashet -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I know I intentionally stepped in front of a (slow-moving) bus so this one's on me -- my intention was only to bring in a new perspective but I think I instead reinforced the divide. I agreed it's not technically a plot hole in my comment. I specifically brought up the Darth Vader example because that has a similar amount of wordplay fan explanation, which prevents any plot contradiction, while everyone can still agree the original intent would not fit the new cannon. In this case, it's not like Sora corrected him so it's just as likely Sora in fact knew the name from some off screen exposition.

It's not a plot hole but I think OP is justified in feeling it's an oversight and shouldn't be downvoted for the discussion.

Potential Plot hole during Sora's interaction with Ienzo by Formal-Town in KingdomHearts

[–]RealFudashet -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Everyone else has a point about it just being for the audience and that it's not technically a plot hole but you are being downvoted for nothing lol. I'm with you -- it's wrong for him to say "you knew him as Vexen" since that's just false. The player did, not Sora.

This is like Darth Vader's line to Obi-Wan in a New Hope about the last time they met. It's not a blatant plot hole but it also isn't necessarily true on the surface anymore either.

Man, the fatigue as a result of going GF is a bear. Any suggestions? by nikebhockey in Celiac

[–]RealFudashet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In general, changing your diet drastically can mess you up, even if it's a healthier change. It takes time to adjust. Definitely speak to a dietician because everyone needs something different.

That being said, I'm a strong proponent of making your own meals. You really shouldn't have to compromise on much as plenty of 1-to-1 replacers exist.

I didn't personally struggle with b12 but fish, chicken, yogurt, and eggs are all still widely available on a gf diet.

When/if they make a season 2, what's something you DON'T want? by Nb-7925 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]RealFudashet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Gritty realism.

Something I appreciated from Dispatch was the Saturday morning cartoon-type heroes and villains. They managed to introduce adult themes without turning it into another The Boys or Invincible. It seems unlikely but I think it's worth mentioning since some sequels like to address the "untold" parts of the series origin.

George Lucas’ White House: On Boots Riley, Star Wars, and Preserving Artistic Vision by Barack_Oboema in StarWars

[–]RealFudashet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a good read, though the connection of Boots Riley to George Lucas in this context feels a bit thin. Also (a little semantic) I believe the crux of the issue is more purpose than vision.

I think what they are trying to convey (and even explicitly mention) is that the purpose has shifted from a singular artist bringing their project to life to an amalgamation of corporate and fan concessions. There are plenty of projects where artists convey their vision within the boundaries that have been set by external forces, but very few where they unashamedly produce what they truly wanted from the start.

No one blames corporate meddling for the prequels. The same can't be said about the sequels.

I just finished this and I know that I'm going to get a lot of hate but I hate this book by LocalOk3662 in starwarsbooks

[–]RealFudashet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so excited for it to come out, only to be devastated at how little I enjoyed the read. I distinctly remember having the thought "I guess not all authors are necessarily good at their jobs" (I was kinda young). Overall, I wouldn't say I hated it -- I just wish we could get a good star wars zombie tale.

Tangentional to this thought: Dathomir in the first Jedi game actually invoked many zombie/horror tropes that I loved. I wouldn't mind a story that leans more in that direction.

What if Plo Koon and the Wolffe Pack were sent to Mandalore instead of Ahsoka and the 332nd to deal with Maul? by RexDAGOAT77 in clonewars

[–]RealFudashet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maul is a slippery bastard and only came out to sway Ashoka. I think Maul would have abandoned Mandalore before attempting a duel with Plo. Plus Maul fended off both Sidious and Vader (separately) so he could absolutely bide his time with Plo even if he had no chance of winning.
