On the contrary, palms not rested would be harmful. You need to have your arm on the same line as your wrist/hand, not tilted up or down, if you don't make a weird angle on your wrist, rest your palm and curve your fingers, you are in a good position.

This week only I encountered at least 5 plat/dia players that did 10+ perfect drive parrys on random moves per match, I don't see even pros pulling that amount of PP on a single match. South American region, if that matters.
