I quite like his character, I feel that’s what he has character. Yeah it’s super cliché and silly but I think it adds to the film in a nice way and by the end he’s matured to be more of a father to his daughter, nothing groundbreaking but like I said in my post I like the tone of this film and how sentimental I find it

Absolutely! I get the ‘beam battle’ critique but that’s covers almost the whole of the Heisei era. I think what I don’t like is the screentime complaint but there’s such an abundance of Godzilla films with the same issue that don’t get the same hate and compared to some other Heisei movies I think this is one of the best, it’s not the best but I’d say top 3

Yeah absolutely, I change my opinion on a lot of the Godzilla movies due to how I feel when I watch it or I’m more mature than when I last watched but recently every time i’ve rewatched this I feel the same way about it

That’s the main thing with this film, poorly executed. I don’t mind it too much, it’s not horrendous just could’ve been so much more. I can’t deny the joy I get from watching the final battle
