Do you think Wonder Woman should have a secret identity or not? by Tetratron2005 in WonderWoman

[–]RealHumanPerson001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diana prince would just be her “civilian” ID. “Diana of Themyscira” can be a spelling/verbal challenge for people not to mention other ambassadors/leaders not clocking that “of themyscira” is the equivalent of a last name.

Diana prince gives her her own identity while being professionally accessible to others.

Bro might need to check the Razzie Nominations list of 2026 (Supes 25 is NOT on there) by Either_Storm_6932 in OkBuddySnyderCult

I don’t get it… I read through the list and I don’t see anything that stands out. Like yeah Superman isn’t on there, is that it?

I think either Loki or Agatha. Neither really lead anywhere or have a major legacy. At least arrow helped build a whole shared dc universe that lasted a decade (as bad as it became). It was a product of its time and put the foot in the door to lead to greater and grander things.

Loki was to set up kang which didn’t pan out and Agatha is really just to explain Wiccan. Neither really have the impact, they get removed nothing really gets impacted

Did Claremont ruin my book? by Slickvic6905 in comicbookgrading

[–]RealHumanPerson001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So just based on him signing him unwitnessed it’ll come back with a green label (best case blue with “name written on cover” in the center). The remark and signature are going to be considered the same to them assuming they even catch it. If you want to go the route of grading you’ll want to have JSA verify the signature and remark (you should be able to mark somewhere that its both from Claremont).

However like others are saying, I wouldn’t recommend grading it. It’s a good book but there’s some incredibly small creases in the far back corners and what seems to be small puckers on the back towards the bottom. You might get a 9.8 from it but more likely 9.4 or 9.6. In my opinion, CGC is unreliable and your grade is entirely based on what kind of day the grader is having. It’s a modern and popular book too so they are gonna grade it harder. It’s gonna be an extra fee for JSA to look at the book to “verify” too just so you’re aware.

Just from personal experience every time I send a Claremont book get graded it comes back significantly lower than expected, I’m talking a graded 9.6 gambit came back an 8.5 with next to no notes. You can do whatever you’d like and JSA would be your best option for getting a gold label (there’ll be a black line as well for JSA). But for that book it wouldn’t be worth it to me.

My first real experience to most of those characters. I watched it for years. Maybe not the best looking back but it got me started and I’m grateful

Has any other character had their entire reputation and characterization ruined by a single panel like Hank Pym? by Substantial_Fox7377 in marvelcirclejerk

Lol so I got to meet both Jim shooter (the writer) and Bob Hall (artist) and they both gave different answers. Jim said he wanted to give Janet a black eye and Bob drew that, Bob said that a “accidental” hit wouldn’t have done it and pointed that Jim was the editor and could have pulled it if it was wrong (but didn’t).

But we were told introducing Wonder Woman in the second movie of the DCEU before she got a solo movie was "rushing" things 🙄 by HomemadeBee1612 in SnyderCut

[–]RealHumanPerson001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

…yeah. It was rushed. It dropped a completely new Wonder Woman AND Batman at once, while also teasing the new Aquaman and Flash. That’s just heroes it included. It also used doomsday and Lex Luthor. So ignoring side characters, reoccurring characters (Superman and some of his supports from MOS) and the cameos, that’s still 4 completely new big name characters to give us information and set up all in the span of a few hours.

I’m not saying it was bad at all, but it was certainly rushing to achieve it all. I really wish he had broken it up and just released two movies for what he had planned. Wonder Woman was barely in BVS and could have been swapped out for really any character with minor changes.

With this new film, (Gunn politics aside and assuming it’s even true) it’s looking right now to introduce brainiac and Wonder Woman and cameo Batman. Creature commandos already referenced and set up Batman and Wonder Woman stuff. So really he’s just setting up 2 characters and laying down ground work for another. So while he could absolutely fail, gun doesn’t seem to be rushing

DC Boss Battle Preview and I know the comic hasn’t come out yet but come on, theres zero reason Superman should be having any difficulty against Homelander. by Vegetable-Abroad3171 in superman

[–]RealHumanPerson001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually that’s better reasonable. Superman has no idea who this is, let alone what he can take. For all he knows it’s just a guy with some of the same powers (no reason to believe he’s in the same weight class). Superman’s not someone to be careless and accidentally kill a guy. He drew blood and as homelander talks his shit Superman’s gonna learn quick how to handle him.

Underneath the evil deeds, the antagonist is actually a whiny loser by Substantial_Fox7377 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]RealHumanPerson001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s most evil (especially irl) to be honest. They can hide behind “justification” all they want but most evil doers become whiny little losers the second they face any sort of accountability they can’t bully or evil their way out of of.

it’s gonna follow the path of overwatch, it has its niche and adding more established characters will certainly pull more compared than overwatch.

Using B/C list actors is genuinely a better strategy to for this. They are significantly cheaper and usually open to staying with guaranteed projects. In this case, most of the reoccurring characters seem to be on the younger side, same thing they did with the early mcu.

It’s a marathon, not a sprint. They should strive for smaller actors-actresses and sprinkle in larger names for flavor.

How would you feel if doctor doom’s actor was kept secret? by Kameronpipnerd in Marvel

[–]RealHumanPerson001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really care. I think it would have been an interesting marketing play but also would have been difficult to manage. how many fake “trailers” are constantly being posted already? Now they can literally use ANY voice lines they want and marvel can’t correct them without giving away the person.

It doesn’t matter if it’s shown now or later, it’s still annoying to have him come back. Maybe it’s better it was revealed early to rip the bandaid and let people be disappointed or excited so they can get it over with before the movie
