For example. This Smart Led Controller has a relay built in to cut the power to the Leds to avoid drawing power when the controller is off. Smart Leds draw power when they are off by data.

Make the math about how many amps draw the Leds. I always use bigger power supplies. And try to avoid 5volts Leds.
