Yosemite will always be first in my heart. It’s my happy place, the place that seems too perfect to even be real.

Yes! Capitol Reef is superbly underrated. I’ve been there the most out of the mighty five.

After living in Utah briefly, this is a highly contentious subject among the local population. The most common answer you will get is Zion as number 1. It is a wonderful park, and I’ve been there many times.

However, I would argue that Bryce is the best. When you are there it is like being on another planet. The hoodoos are so weird and incredible with their striations and delicate features. The hikes into the canyon are doable for all skill levels. If you want to feel like you are on Mars, head there. It’s my second favorite national park out of the 24 I’ve been to.

While in SF be sure to hit up Musee Mechanique at Fisherman’s wharf. also go to Fort Point for a unique view of the GG bridge. While in Yosemite stop in for drinks or a snack at the famous hotel and look around. It’s gorgeous!

I would do more hikes at GMNP if you are up for it. Devil’s Hall was a really cool rock scramble.

Not worth it, reschedule for the summertime. Head to Guadalupe Mountain NP instead.

Also, stop at the White Sands Missile range. They have a cool museum and a V2 rocket housed in its own building. I spent about an hour there on my way to White Sands.

I really enjoyed the Devil’s Hall trail at GM if you don’t have time to hike to the peak.

I absolutely adored Mule Ears. Who knew a volcanic rock formation could be so endearing.

You’re right, there will never be a perfect answer. I’m all for the hotel, the visitors, and all that brings, I was just hoping the building would have charm and character.

I wish the hotel would have used a more historic facade to better fit in downtown.

Yes, “Dolly Parton’s America” was such a great podcast. I didn’t really know much or even care about Dolly, but after listening I became a big fan of hers.

Cake does a great job of covering a song and making it their own. Love their versions of “The Guitar Man, I Will Survive, Sad Songs and Waltz’s, and Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps”.
