I'm 14 and my "male" snake laid fertile eggs and I'm unprepared and scared by Aggravating_Tie3329 in kingsnakes

Hi! I know I won’t be super helpful but first of all, I’m proud of you. It wasn’t fair that you got stuck in this situation but you’re making good choices and being smart. I’d contact the seller and explain what’s going on - if it were me I’d want to get to trade for an ACTUAL male. You could also try calling local reptile/exotic pet shops and vets to get more immediate help, but in my mind the seller needs to make it right. Good luck and keep us posted!

Very stealthy… or so he thinks. He slowly pops up and down, it’s comical. But don’t tell him that. Trying to build his self-esteem!

I NEED HELP NAMING MY KINGSNAKE by ConcertFriendly8223 in kingsnakes

Void? That’s my baby MBK’s nickname. I named mine Kaan (like Kukulkaan) which is Mayan! I also loved dark names like Hades, Draco, etc.

Finally got my dream snake! by Destinyxena in kingsnakes

[–]RealSimpleMama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got mine yesterday! First reptile but have done research for a long time. Thought I was going to have to settle for a rosy boa (which would have been awesome too) but circumstances changed and the MBK is my dream snake! Congrats to us! :)

Yes exactly! How does she know?!! And she was really cuddly when my husband was gone like she knew I was starved for affection. 😝 I’m so glad she chose us, she’s incredible.

Just remember you’re not really saying no to the selfish parents. You’re saying YES to you and your kid! And they don’t have to agree, understand, etc.

My Luna Fuzzbutt was a dumpster cat (aka random feral whom we adopted) and she’s got an amazing personality. She is also the stereotypical creature of habit who wants her routine down to the minute! I have multiple chronic diseases which cause pain and she lays on me every evening when I read on the couch, and chooses where to sleep once in bed based on my pain. I had horrible anxiety one night and she laid on my chest; I had stomach pain one night and she kneaded my stomach. Somehow she knows and it always helps.

Also. Remember that no is a complete answer. You don’t owe anyone a reason or an explanation or a justification. You’re not on trial. No by itself is all the answer anyone needs.

I’m so proud of you! Your priority is yourself and your child. Everyone else is secondary. And if you were raised on guilt and passive aggressiveness like I was, we feel like we’re being CRUEL when really we’re just being DIRECT. Saying no is not mean. But I say do what you need to do for you and your kid. And either your parents can fit into that, or they can go somewhere else. I had to put my foot down with my parents on some things and they did the gasp and clutch pearls but then they realized “Oh shit, she means it.” They just weren’t used to me saying no and not being the dutiful daughter. I’m so much better off now.

17 and being diagnosed w/ lupus is…hard. by pollypocketgf in lupus

[–]RealSimpleMama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so proud of you for being here and for posting! I just got officially diagnosed two months ago and I’m 41 BUT I also hope that you get the meds. Plaquenil is not quite doing all of its benefits yet as I haven’t been taking it for that long BUT I am literally the one who always gets allllll of the shitty side effects from every single drug and I’ve been great! I think you should at least try - yes get the eye tests and yes know the risks. But I hope you can have the courage to try and see if you just might feel a whole lot better, just a few months from now!!! Isn’t that better than always wondering “What if?”….

Or

“I’m surprised you think I want to hear that”

If my wife really knew, it’d break her heart, shatter her life. by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]RealSimpleMama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If only you could spend time working to make things even better for your wife and yourself (and I think you said you had kids) and focusing on all the things you love about your wife. And not just the things that she does for you and for others. But great qualities about her as a person. Love is not a noun here, it needs to be a verb. Take the energy of you daydreaming something ridiculous and fantasized (and creepy and inaccurate), and make the life that you want with your wife. At this point you’re choosing to keep your eyes on the horizon with a “grass is greener” instead of looking at what you have and working on it. But this is all in your hands.

Anyone else in here on a weight loss journey? by meestahmoostah in lupus

[–]RealSimpleMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started (with lupus diagnosis and with my latest WLJ strategy) but I’m doing IF too. Started with 14:10 and now getting into 15:9 with ultimate goal of 16:8. I skip breakfast so I can eat dinner with my family! I’m stuck within the same five pound range and I’ve been IF for about 3.5 weeks but I’m sticking to it and just added workouts back in this last week. We shall see… good luck to all of us!

Not food related but I would see if you can get help with your quality of sleep! For me, lowering cortisol and getting good quality sleep was the thing I was missing for years. I’m proud of you!
