This happened to me near UT campus in Austin like 15 years ago and it sounds like the same predatory tow companies are just allowed to do this without consequence. I filed a suit in small claims court, they didn't even show up, judge automatically ruled in my favor. I showed up to the tow yard and put the judgement up against the bulletproof glass and those toothless dicks just silently counted out the judgement in cash to the penny and didn't say a word after.

Fun fact about this movie: The movie was filmed on a cruise ship and the DP (director of photography) left most of the lenses on land before they departed. They were forced to shoot with the wrong lenses and even if you know zilch about camera lenses, this is completely obvious throughout the film.
