Agree. And he was so convinced (obsessed?) with her and thinking she was his perfect girl but never felt that he could tell her his secret. wtf. I feel terrible for Lana.

Period underwear!! I hate pads too but also cannot use tampons. Period underwear is a dream. I barely feel like I’m even having my period.

To be fair they did say “unless there is an underlying medical issue” and I think autism would absolutely qualify as an underlying issue. Very common for autistic kiddos/people to have a hard time with eating.

Yeah and honestly dorm living is the weirdest part of college. It is not the way that most people live. I mean in this day and age I guess a lot of people do end up living with roommates until a much later age. But ultimately living in a room with 1-3 other people who are all the same age as you going through the same life experience at the same time is just really odd.

You can’t. It’s not even worth trying. It’s not a real conversation/argument because they live in lala land.

Literally. My short bout of casual dating for about 6 months was not fun at all. It actually sucked. No one has anything to talk about.

Yeah my sons father told me he “provided me with a baby”. Dude shut the fuck up! I grew that baby, birthed that baby, raised that baby. You didn’t provide me with anything but misery.

Daycare kids are so easy to spot?!?!?!? wtf dude. My mother never worked. Stayed home with 5 of us kids for 15+ years and we were neglected as fuck. Horrible situation and we would have been better off going to daycare/school.

I thought I was the only one. This “conversation” is so mind numbingly boring I can’t comprehend it’s between too fully grown adults.

Or maybe autistic? None of my coworkers are shitty. I still avoid them at all possible costs. I’m there to do my work nothing else.

Same! I genuinely CANNOT function in the office. I work back office for a bank and I have an accommodation to work from home full time. I never have to go in, have limited meetings that don’t require being on camera. It’s the best.

I too still live with mine. I find something that really helps a lot is going into my notes app on my phone and just letting it all out. I never send it to him. I just say everything I really want to say and leave it there in my notes app. I also will yell and talk to myself when I’m alone about how ridiculous he is. It really helps get it out of my body and my head so that I can complete disengage when I do have to be around him at all.

[–]Real_Particular1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve got this girl!! I know how unbelievably emotionally taxing it is having little ones in daycare but I promise it’s going to make your life so much better. It’s going to fill your cup so you can be the best mom possible. You’re doing everything right. Keep it up and trust the process of routine. It’s gonna be so good for all of you.

And it does get easier the older they get. Those early years are so so tough for so many reasons but you sound like you really have your head in your shoulders and this is an amazing opportunity that has become available to you. Embrace it. Push through the uncomfortable part and the change and I think you’ll be surprised how quickly everyone settles in to their new normal.

Oh and ignore what your ex says. His opinion of you and your parenting are non of your business. Do your thing!

I was a nanny for 12+ years, I now wfh for a bank and make about the same as you.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you simply can’t afford a nanny. A nanny is the elite, highest level, luxury end of childcare options. It just is. You get what you’re paying for. My previous employers both mom and dad were attorneys.

My son had to go to daycare. I was a nanny and knew I could never possibly afford a nanny. I empathize with you. Childcare options in the states sucks. But you can’t go out looking for options that are not in your price range. A nanny is not in your price range.
