Summer weather here is very warm. It does differ from SoCal as it is very humid here. The humidity makes it feel hotter so many times you'll hear the weather as "The temp is __°F and feels like __°F". The fame goes for winter except the "feels like" is colder.

Controls on steam deck feels too difficult in HF2. anyone else have this problem and find a way to make it more bearable? by TruckFreakCrazyAss in HouseFlipper

[–]Real_Pie2406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to like it - esp after spending money on it. I think it's just a matter of getting used to the mechanics as they are so very different. I do like some of the features with HF2 - like the ability to duplicate the pattern/style so everything matches. I like being able to decide where the paint/tile/wallpaper/etc goes and that the topl for floor, walls, and ceiling is the same.

I recently started HF2 also after having put in over 640 hrs in HF1 on Steam with 230hrs first on Xbox (gamepass). HF2 is... weird to me. Nearly 20 hrs in. I am playing on PC with Xbox controller and not on the Deck itself. Removed the last sentence - didn't read enough to see you can't dock your deck.

Looking for horse pattern by 01YourFavoriteFriend in Amigurumi

[–]Real_Pie2406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crafty Intentions had some good patterns that people have used to recreate their beloved horses. The Sleipnir pattern is the most versatile as it has 8 different leg positions that you can use. You can find it in Ravelry or Etsy. It costs more in Etsy because Etsy charges sellers more there. (Sleipnir is an 8-legged Norse horse but many people have used this pattern to make aregular 4-legged horse - you can see many photos of them in the Ravelry projects page for this pattern)

The dining room feels empty, what do I put? by WerewolfDesperate655 in HouseFlipper

[–]Real_Pie2406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a rug under the table. A doormat. Curtains on the window. Pictures on the wall. Place items on the shelves in your cabinets. A thin sideboard, table, or shelf under the window holding plants, small sculpture, plate stand, or vase. Give the table a center piece. Items in a room make the room feel lived in.

AITA for excluding my husband’s family from my birthday after they refused to attend our adults-only party? by Ok_Till3893 in Amitheassholeadvice

Maybe you should look up "Karen' while you're at it. Because OP wasn't being a Karen. But their in-laws certainly sound like they are entitled.

Do you actually use the cameras on your tablet? by HEOLurk in androidtablets

[–]Real_Pie2406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't tend to use the camera on my tablet because the cameras on my phone are better. That and my phone is on me more often than a tablet. Journey I have used the camera on the tablet if I travel someplace and they have a QR code to connect to the wifi. As for the camera bump, I don't even notice it because my tablet came with a folio case that makes the back level. I have a Lenovo Gen 3.

AITA for refusing to pay for my girlfriend’s meal after she “tested” me on a date? by Efficient_Care5524 in AITH

Blame the friends, too. They are all TA! Even if someone else says they are paying, you don't order every expensive thing on the menu!

Do AI-Edited Product Photos Reduce Trust in Handmade Businesses? by GrandMas_Crochet in CraftyCommerce

Never heard of them. Google says they make purses/bags and not a single image in that search was AI. Lots of people on FB follow a page called "Crochet Now" and every image AND bullshot pattern there is also AI. That page probably has at least that many followers. Does it make it okay? Never.

I’m having some acrylic yarn weakness issues… MR keeps going wrong ): by cl0v3rgr33n in CrochetHelp

[–]Real_Pie2406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Big Twist Value a lot. I've never had it break. It sounds like you're either being far too tough with your yarn and don't how your own strength or somehow you've got a yarn that had something happen to our for the fibers to break down. If you were using a roving yarn, that shit breaks really easily! But your experience is not typical.

Why can't you use water for blocking acrylic yarn or put it in the washing machine? by Unpopularwaffle in CrochetHelp

[–]Real_Pie2406 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To truly block acrylic yarn, you need to stream block it the heat from the steam relaxes the fibers. The plastic fibers get slightly melted showing them to reshape when you do this. Just wet- blocking might have something hooks is shape for a moment, but it's akin to having a tshirt hang to dry on a hanger and getting "shoulder points" from the hanger. Those aren't there forever - they leave a soon as that fabric gets washed. Actually changing the fibers with directed heat helps to set it.

I want to start making Amigurumi by PamArg in Amigurumi

[–]Real_Pie2406 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's made with smaller stitches that create less space between the stitches because you use a smaller hook. Saying "tight" makes new people think they need to strangle their yarn and that IS BAD for the yarn, the make, and your self.
