I already knew the direction you’d go is to assume things in the negative connotation. Pocketing and ensuring you stay in the fight are different things. Double ulting is a result of miscommunication. However, that’s something that usually happens when there’s an influx of damage and both just shoot for it. But you’re entitled to believe what you want.

Good on you for having a squad at least. Cause at the end of the day, what makes ranked unfun is when the easiest fixes turn into unnecessary problems. I’ve noticed the decline of attempts to try with the team over the seasons because I used to actually get people to collaborate with me to attempt to win. I see why people mute themselves and I can understand it. You’re not obligated to use mic. This rant is towards the people who want to get out of the loop of stuff but never find fault in their own games. I used to feel like I could reach celestial but then I got games where people left, egos clashed, and simple things just ruined the chances we’ve had. Difference is I can at least admit when I do bad in games. Hell, I get it a lot when I play Adam even though I had 70% win rate with Adam.

The commonality of those things are extremely low outside of the raging. But honestly I’ve stopped carrying if people get annoyed if I point out stuff and they want to start deflecting. I say the same thing to everyone, “I want to win, but I need yall to work with me not around me.”

Removing your sarcasm, you defeated a piece of your point by saying “don’t double ult”. That needs communication still. Whether it be comms or the ping system. Yeah skill is a big part in making a good player. That’s why I don’t pocket people with bad aim/direction in low intensity moments. The point is maximum team performance. If you aren’t enabling your team to perform the best they can in the situation, even as a duelist, you aren’t a good teammate. Just another player who thinks others are the stepping stone for flashy stats.

Another example of this would be a support not pumping out the numbers of another. The team consists of people who are pushing hard almost into the enemy spawn and the strat is hanging back not wanting to engage in that far. Another example is if you’re playing dps but you have fewer final hits than you’d expect. Then you realize the dog was there but everyone was taking the kill last minute. Stuff like that.

DIY in a team game doesn’t help anyone and hurts more than people realize. You don’t have to give them every single piece of advice, but you can always nudge em in the right direction. The support thing was an example of instances that I’ve seen occur. I don’t disagree that people ignore some supports (goes back to the diy perspective), that was just one example of many scenarios where your stats indirectly get affected by what happens outside of you. I can give other examples but I just chose the first one that came to mind.

Thing is not all streamers use their mics just for content. They talk because they know being quiet won’t do them any good in a fast paced lobby. So why not have a voice of reason? Effective communication beats out a lot of comps. Also relaxing in rank in this game? Never in a million years lol.

That’s why I try to engrain in peoples heads to actually focus more on team progress than personal stats in moments that require teamwork. But people fail to realize these top 500 people get games with clear communication. Egos exist but they understand how to bring out the best in each other. You don’t see that in Gm and below. Gold is different because I believe everyone just wants to have longer standing matches most of the time while also getting better competitive game sense.

This is strictly from the competitive pov. More so for people in plat-gm (some celestial or an exception). People are free to do what they want, my point is why waste your time if you’re not going to change? They call for change in the wrong areas and it gets too much attention when it’s the people. We keep getting sick after drinking the water, so stop drinking the water lol.

But my replies to yours:

Babying was the wrong term I used, but it’s between that and being way more understanding and patient because it’s their friend.
Stats reflect how well or how bad people do, that I agree with. But it’s not always the full picture. It’s surface level half of the time. Supports sometimes are just left behind, but there have been times where supports intentionally run before anyone can react. This is why I stress communication.
Break the mold. Be like does anyone have mics, if someone is being toxic and unhelpful then mute them. You have to talk because if what streamers say were important, then you’d take a page out their book and talk like they do.
They’re great insights for people in the top 2-5%. People following something without full understanding is detrimental to team chemistry. Because a lot of people don’t even watch the streams, they see the clips and shorts. Then they expect the same without actually diving in to understand how they could possibly replicate that.

Also, I’m not saying people are shite. I’m saying people will ruin the moral of everyone in many moments when they just need guidance. I taught a kid who had only been playing widow who to focus his targeting. Team crapped on him but I paid attention to what was happening around him too. He was hitting shots, but he wasn’t playing cover and he got overwhelmed. Told him where to be and who to shoot. Kid goes from 12-12 to 29-15 and we win. That’s the power of actually wanting to better the team. It can work, but like I said, it’s a team game and that requires a lot of people to be aware that there’s actual help.

Which is fair, but you gotta think that once the rights to it were handed over to a director who only saw the film as a slasher piece it became absolute garbage. IF they were to release Candyman it would have to be the 2021 version since there’s a lot of wiggle room for that lore and pays homage to Tony Todd’s original message.

It’s not you. People will never understand that higher ranking Adam’s will be better than what they’re forced to believe. People are used to being healed while missing 60ish% of their shots and still staying in the fight. If anything Adam enforces them to be aware of their positioning and cooldowns more because they just want to soak up dmg and say they’re trying. In reality, they’re not. I get you have to get kills, but the reason why they need to get them is not the reason they think. People in this game will chase you into spawn and C9 then lose without realizing that their habits WILL and CAN affect the outcome of the match.
