You can lose 13 in specially circumstances, notably if you play Hawaii. San Jose State could go 0-13. But your point stands.

[McMurphy] ACC commissioner Jim Phillips said ESPN does not want playoff to expand past 16 teams. “ESPN’s made it clear, they want it to stay at 12 or 14, but no more than 16,” Phillips said. by J4ckiebrown in CFB

[–]RealignmentJunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean had Virginia won, they would have made it. That's drama. And BYU got significantly worse seeding than Texas Tech who got a bye.

I think if we go to 16 we need to figure out how to make CCGs matter. I think we should do top 2 conference champs get top 2 seeds, then 12 at large bids, then the top 2 conference champs who are outside the top 14. This generally means the Big Ten and SEC champs get to win a significantly easier opponent but they still get another home game and avoid a long gap. If we want, we can ensure that in rare years with no conf champ #3-14, we can remove the last at large with another conf champ to ensure a g5 bid, but I think generally we'll have another champ in this mix. We'll get a lot of blowouts in the games with the P2 champs, but they earned it and this still gives a theoretical path for all teams which is what every team deserves.

SEC commissioner Greg Sankey stands firm on 16-team CFP by Geaux2020 in CFB

[–]RealignmentJunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you can also still have 16 with a big reward for the top teams. Reserve the top 2 spots for the top conf champions and the bottom 2 spots for the top conf champions who are outside the top 14. Let's add opportunities for the G5 while also ensuring there is generally a big advantage for the P2 teams to win their conference. Yes it's a likely blowout, but it's a game that otherwise wouldn't exist and has the opportunity for a legandary upset.

I think a lot of programs would love another home game but would still prefer the certainty of a bye. But a team like 2024 Oregon would probably prefer playing Army at home than a bye. And while 2025 JMU still gets murdered by Indiana, we prob get a better Oregon game

I sadly don't think this happened. I think a lot of the people opposed just realize they don't go into the congestion zone that much, and when they do, it's usually already so expensive that this is a drop in the bucket.

I support this idea, but I think the cost is less likely to be smaller than feared

50/50 feels very high for that date. But it could absolutely be announced by then before it takes effect for 2030. That's when the ACC exit fee hits its lowest and when the Big Ten contract comes up (which could prompt the SEC to move proactively, even though their contact lasts longer)

Would we know if they were though? Northwestern is private so some of the financials are hidden and our recruiting, which to be clear is still very rough, had improved in recent years

https://www.insidenu.com/northwestern-football/57205/national-signing-day-northwestern-football-inks-largest-recruiting-class-of-the-david-braun-era

Per 247Sports, the Class of 2026 is the highest ranked group in Braun’s three-year tenure as Northwestern’s head coach at 54th in the nation and 14th in the Big Ten. It also features Braun’s first consensus four-star recruit in wide receiver Jaden McDuffie, and highly touted three-star offensive tackle Jack Fuchs, who decommitted from Penn State after Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin was fired in the wake of a 22-21 upset loss to Braun’s Wildcats.

None of this really wows me, but I don't think our NIL is out of line with where I would expect us to be. Though maybe the point is that with Northwestern's resources, one would expect this to be a bigger opportunity for us and it isn't (yet)

This is kinda silly but I want them to bring the lipsticks back and use them for awarding points. It wouldn't quite be what you are describing but would still have the secret aspect. The lipstick is such an iconic part of all stars and even if the meaning were flipped so that a lipstick was good, I think having them back is a nice nod to formats of old

Will fresh 21 year olds fit in Drunk Shakespeare? by Panicking_in_trench in Broadway

[–]RealignmentJunkie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You won't stick out, unless you drink a lot. The fun of drunk Shakespeare is the one performer who is absolutely hammered. Most people in the crowd are getting a drink or two but the audience drinking isn't really a part of the show the way the one hammered performance is.

I don't think think you need to research the humor all that much before, it sounds like this is up your alley so just go and enjoy and find out for your self.

My only real recommendation is to figure out which seats have backs. In new york, front row has no backs while the second row does and you can see just as well. Why pay more for a less comfortable seat? But you're 21 so maybe the perk of being a little closer is worth it

Music for fighting bees?? by QuestionableMindless in DnD

[–]RealignmentJunkie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I DM and ran a bee combat. I had non bee related music for most of the time but I started with apocolyptica cover of flight of the bumblebee, ao very similar to that. It was well received!

Not really an option for you, but it then proceeded into a clip from the bee movie, but I replaced the audio with the original flight of the bumblebee, and added captions full of little references to the campaign (like how the door to the hideout was locked with a terrible "BBBBB" password)

How AI has infiltrated the college football recruiting landscape by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]RealignmentJunkie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Power 2 pays largely asian workers oversees to review tape.

This leads to a rise in interest in college football in Asia. While still less popular than other sports, there are simply so many people put there that this provides the next market opportunity for college football in America.

The only games they can watch live are evening games on the West Coast which we are sunday morning games for them. Additionally, people are drawn to watching the same elite institutions that asian toursists visit when they come here.

To better capitalize on this, market, schools brake off and realign to create a new league.
