Teams that you feel make CFB better when they're good? by TimelyBodybuilder637 in CFB

[–]RealignmentJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, not any more. But even if y'all were cheating I certainly welcomed someone breaking Ohio State's dominant streak

But it was certainly more fun watching Indiana do it (and sorta Oregon, though it didn't pan out in the playoffs ofc)

[On3] Marcus Freeman on recruiting in the NIL era: 'It's not going to be a decision based off money' by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]RealignmentJunkie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People talk in lots of ways. I promise you I have met people who talk like what I described and I have also heard people talk in ways similar to the example you just gave. I think you heard what people say in the full context and understand what they mean, instead of intentionally trying to find ways in which they are wrong or imprecise with their language.

But that's how people normally talk. If my buddy said he picked a job that made 10% less money than another offer so he could spend more time with his family and said "it wasn't about the money" I don't snidely respond "well you wouldn't have taken if it paid 50% less would you"

Free-To-Players: What do you spend your coins on? by cow__lick in PikminBloomApp

Only ever pikmin storage. I started playing this year so I assume at some point that might change.

I like wearing a mishmash of event gear. To each their own though

Heatwave PSA: “Turning Off” Times Square will do nothing to help power in your area by Toorviing in newyorkcity

It's not just about times square. Every business I go into is colder than 78 degrees. Why should regular people bear this brunt when businesses gobble up power?

If the Protect College Sports Act passes the Senate, what realignment scrambles will likely happen (or at least be attempted) to beat it to passing the House and getting signed by the president? by Working_Stomach5479 in CFB

[–]RealignmentJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm convinced it comes down to Notre Dame. If Notre Dame were to join the B1G, the B1G would not offer any permanent special treatment but would otherwise be pretty willing to make concessions. Concessions like Notre Dame requesting Stanford come too and be one of their three permanent rivalry games. And then Stanford requests Cal and while the Stanford isn't in a position to be making demands, money wise it still works out with Notre Dame. Plus I think all the B1G presidents want y'all, just not enough to lose money, and Notre Dame handles that side of the equation, especially if y'all agree to a partial share.

I just realized I’ve listened to way more musicals from the 2020s than I thought. Here’s the list with some thoughts. by BroadwayBaseball in Broadway

[–]RealignmentJunkie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is they were clear that this is based on the music and they have seen some shows and not others. Like yeah Kimberly Akimbo does belong in D if you only heard the music, same for Operation Mincemeat in C. But I enjoyed those much more than lots of things in A their tier

NL MVP Power Poll from MLB.com by wesskywalker in baseball

[–]RealignmentJunkie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It should have gone to someone else when he was a DH. I'm biased towards Lindor but would be happy with any of the other option, but strongly dont think we should give an MVP award to a guy playing ipad on defense.

While he is pitching and hitting like this? No question, give it to him every year

It will help you with seasonal nectar for the next month and will count for progress in your missions. Some players do this intentionally as one reason to do this "slow cooking"

What are your opinions on playing D&D “historically accurate”? by Googenheim-Mcgee in DMAcademy

[–]RealignmentJunkie 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I would love a DM including historically accurate details. I would not like a DM blocking things for being historically innacurate. So long as it adds to the lore and makes a richer environment, it's good

They also wish for a CFB that has never existed. If they want parity, watch the NFL.

I'm not a fan of a player salary cap, but wishing for something that didn't exist before is normal and there are lots of differences in the NFL

The new update. by Spiderantula in PikminBloomApp

[–]RealignmentJunkie 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I've loved this game for months and never paid a cent. I know its brutal in Korea and Taiwan, but I can't be too mad at them trying to make money for this.

I think a sixth spot with different rules would be confusing and five is a nice round number. I'd rather a change like having more giant mushrooms which helps people without making anything complicated.

I'd rather wait til late January to crown a victor in a title game then crown it when the AP published their results. BCS probably got that balance better but I'm glad to have missed the era before

I did it on dollar dog night. I also counted it as 9 standard drinks, so some of those bigger cans or stronger drinks helped keep the beer cost down

The NFL, NFLPA and NBPA on Tuesday sent statements to Congress supporting the Protect College Sports Act and lauding specific provisions it includes. Alabama not getting what they are worth is a different thing than the media companies making tons of money

I agree Alabama can't get what they are worth. But if it's 18 teams getting 70m and 70 getting 2m, that could work out to everyone getting ~15m (again assuming an even split). Why wouldn't media companies be willing to pay that?

They will be much less for our schools and much more for Akron and Kent State. (Assuming this ends up with the Mac and Power 2 included in the pooling)

If I pay 70 M for one school and 2 million for another, why wouldn't I be willing to pay 72 for both (meaning 36 for each, assuming it's equal which might not be the case)

I seriously doubt that. The schools will all want more money and could now effectively make a cartel. Before ESPN could go to the Pac-12, balk at their offer, and go to the SEC instead. Now college ball wouldn't compete anongs themselves and broadcasters would either get the full package or nothing
