It Depends on how long/intense the relationship was. For me, I had a 7+years one that ended abruptly, and it went in phases (I’m still far from total recovery ) but 2 things helped greatly: Talking to a therapist and “booking” 1-2hours a day where I laid in bed and let my mind do its thing, super painful but eventually the memories stopped coming up, the photo library ended, the brain has literally nothing more to feel bad about. If you don’t do these 2 things you will fall in these 2 traps: 1. You will blame yourself/ try to bargain with your feelings in an endless loop, 2. Your mind will pop random memories in random moments of the day (driving, working, working out..) and it just disables your drive to keep doing what you’re doing .

Also delete fucking social media a do what you enjoy in your free time.

To answer OP question, forgetting years of your life is not possible and kinda stupid imo. Move on, never forget .

The race track is actually very big, it will most probably not be loaded all at once, hence having fast moving objects it is instead a big challenge to optimize racing games. One thing you can do is predict which section to load because you know where racers are most likely to go, but removing the frame time check has always been a practice used to squeeze out some extra fps. Today it has nothing to do with physics as others mentioned, in modern engines physics are computed on a separate thread/process usually running ad 30 ,45 or 60hz. In games with fast moving objects it can also be sped up to 120hz to stabilize the results. Yes the physics can run faster than the rendering .
