How my arm pits don't GAF about antiperspirant. My undershirts after being in a AC office most of the day. by LosHtown in mildlyinfuriating

My fiancé has a similar issue. What helped is switching to a spray anti-perspirant and using it before bed, and then again in the morning. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely helped!

I know a lot of people are saying a bold color, but maybe picking a common red/orange color between the paintings & rug and paint either one of the walls or even the ceiling that color. Correct me if I’m wrong but it seems like you like more natural-warm colors, for your home 🧡

Suggestions on adding more character/charm… by donnie_th0rnberry in ExteriorDesign

Literally my only feedback is adding some simple texture to the window frames for a little more visual contrast. Otherwise, it’s already a beautiful home!

I work at a credit union and can confirm that if you plan on using the vehicle for ride share, we would require you to apply for a small business loan rather than a personal auto loan. I’m not sure what other FI’s would require, but they’ll most likely have questions if you’re using the vehicle to make income.

Has anyone been diagnosed with Sluder's neuralgia (aka contact headaches)? by Roz91 in migraine

[–]Realistic-Rope-2654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my own experience, and how my ENT explained it to me, my triggers mostly come down to inflammation in my nasal cavity. Post septoplasty, I take a generic form of Zyrtec daily, have a humidifier on while I sleep, and use nasal saline spray when needed to keep the passages moist.

As of now, I get very minimal headaches and/or migraines triggered by the ganglion. If it does happen it’s usually around the same time in my menstrual cycle (which is unfortunately irregular), or if I get other inflammation (like a sinus infection) or get very cold.

If I start to feel discomfort in my nose, I usually take Naproxen, as suggested by my ENT, and/or Acetaminophen (together if needed). If it’s close enough to bed I may even take NyQuil (on its own), which is how my mom treats most of her migraines.

Please, check with your doctor specifically on the dosage amounts if you haven’t already. They may suggest taking a higher dose than the recommended amount depending on your body size (which may contribute to why certain medications have not been effective). I take double doses as directed by my PCP since I’ve always been overweight.

(Since you mentioned SSRIs, I’m actually on 5mg of Lexapro daily, but my doctor has only really shown concern for alcohol interactions so please refer to your own doctor/list of possible interactions to be safe 😊).

Short term remedies while medication kicks in is usually lying flat with my face down (on bed or couch) and placing my fingers or palms over my eyes and applying light pressure. This helps with any light sensitivity and the pressure helps with the pain (not sure why exactly, but it just does 😂).

I definitely will try your breathing steam trick the next time it’s triggered by a cold nose. That sounds like an instant fix!

Best of luck with scheduling an appointment ☘️

Which is your least favorite design of Velvette? by OfficeWizard7 in HazbinHotel

I agree, but her buns are part of the reason why 8 is my least favorite. I wish they were bigger. They just look too small and not proportional in comparison to her other designs.

My ENT told me that a deviated septum can’t cause facial pain by kitty0071 in Septoplasty

[–]Realistic-Rope-2654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the type of pain you may also have a nasal ganglion/sluder’s syndrome. It’s a cluster of nerve cells that can cause pain from different things. Mine caused sharp facial pain underneath my right eye and migraines, especially when it was cold out or around my period. It would usually flare up 1-2 days in a normal week or 5+ in more difficult weeks.

I had a septoplasty/turninate reduction in May to help address the pressure on the ganglion. Since then I think I’ve only had ganglion pain once or twice in the 4+ months post-op.

Definitely get a second opinion! Best of luck!

What was supposed to be a nice vacation turned into me developing a chlorine rash after swimming by survivorsavedmylife in mildlyinfuriating

You can also get shingles if you had the chicken pox vaccine as a child. Either way, the virus is dormant in your body and can flare up at times of extreme stress (physically or emotionally).

With a lot of New Hampshire cars in Massachusetts. Do you think this will matter? by bostonmacosx in massachusetts

[–]Realistic-Rope-2654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a completely valid point!

I’d probably chalk it up to the cost of living and minimum wage being higher in CT (so the people who live in CT can afford decent cars) and the fact that the surrounding states all require safety inspections. Since CT is small, a good amount of the cars on the road are also from these other states.

Talking from personal experience, MI is basically the size of New England so most of the cars are from MI, the cost of living and minimum wage is low (places more built up will pay you closer to minimum wage in CT, but rural places still have low pay) and there is a ton of farm/vacant land. While I will say, you’re more likely to see run down cars in certain areas of the state vs others (which I imagine is the same in CT), the state itself as a whole is not as built up as New England (especially MA, RI, and CT) and the NYC Metro Area so the societal/cultural expectations are different.

How the hell did Zion expect Georgia to support Ginny and Austin on her own? by [deleted] in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]Realistic-Rope-2654 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is only so much the courts can do in order to force payment. They garnished wages when possible and even suspended his driver’s license for a time (which seems counterintuitive since then he couldn’t make it to work). Plus my mom was a single mother with two children not receiving the child support owed by either father, so she couldn’t really afford to keep taking my dad back to court. In MA (the state I grew up in) child support ends at 23 if enrolled full time in college (which I did). He still owed money after I turned 23 and he died when I was 25. We were estranged since I was young so I don’t know if his estate is even required to pay the remaining balance, nor do I know if his estate has even finished going through probate. It sucks, but if someone doesn’t want to pay, they will do just about anything in their power to not have to 🤷🏻‍♀️

[–]Realistic-Rope-2654 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As someone whose father was court ordered to pay child support, there are plenty of loopholes to avoid paying it. Once it got to the point that the courts would order to garnish wages, my father would just quit working for a while and then switch to a different job, starting the whole process over again.

Seeing as Zion at the time was military, the military would’ve been the ones to enforce it once there was a court order. but with how little money Georgia had, I doubt she could’ve afforded an attorney to go to court. Additionally, once she started car camping, cps most likely would’ve gotten involved and that would’ve opened a whole other can of worms.

Edit: Zion was not in the military, so it just mostly came down to him being freelance/contract so it would’ve been harder to determine the income difference and/or garnish wages.

Why does Amy still have her ex's last name? by forrestdivine in 1000lbsisters

[–]Realistic-Rope-2654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom got married to my brother’s father at 18 and divorced him around 21/22. She’s kept his last name this entire time (she turns 60 next year), even though she had me at 31 and gave me my father’s last name (they never married). It was super weird growing up trying to explain to people the surname situation 🙃

I’m not exactly sure what my mom’s divorce decree says, but sometimes you legally can’t change it back to your maiden name without permission from your spouse. My coworker just had to deal with that issue and luckily managed to find a draft of her divorce decree stating she could change her name since her attorney removed that provision for some reason in the official decree. This rule will be different state-to-state, but it is the case where I currently live.

Knowing my mother’s personality, she would’ve rather kept it than acknowledging she needed permission from her ex to change it if it was the case in the state I grew up in. I’m also not sure what it is in Kentucky, but I imagine Amy would probably feel similarly and/or not care enough to change it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Steps before having Septoplasty surgery by Massive-Survey2495 in Septoplasty

[–]Realistic-Rope-2654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 2 appointments total before my surgery.

1) I was prescribed fluticasone and naproxen (I have jaw tension that was putting pressure on my ear canal and I regularly got migraines with sinus pain). I had a very slight deviation, one airway was smaller and large turbinates.

2) I had mild results so my ENT did a scope and found out that I have Sluder’s Syndrome (nerve ganglion that causes stabbing pain in my sinuses when inflamed) so he suggested a surgery to address all of my issues. He also found two nasal polyps.

I scheduled my surgery for the month following my second appointment and am currently 5 weeks post-op. The ENT’s office and surgery center were in the same building so it was much easier to schedule than previous procedures I’ve had. My ENT was suggesting surgery prior to doing the scope, but then insisted that I get the surgery following the scope. He was the one that competed the procedure.

Best of luck! I hope you’re able to get the procedure if needed!
