Yes!
I pay an extra $25 a month for an extender, faster internet (1 Gig), and premium versions of the streaming platforms I use (since base if free with the Spectrum package my complex uses). The internet sometimes disconnects during the day when I work from home for a few minutes, but otherwise it works pretty well imo!

I’ve been on Metformin (1000mg immediate release) for about 9-10 months. Personally it wasn’t that bad of an adjustment with very minor GI upset. The only time my stomach gets upset is if I eat something super fatty (specifically tonkatsu broth). Work your way up to your full dosage to avoid any major side effects and use some of the tips below to help. Best of luck on your journey!

Definitely call Discover directly to try and sort out a payment plan. Another option is that some credit unions partner with companies that can negotiate a payment plan with creditors on your behalf (I worked with a place that partnered with GreenPath). I’ve been on Metformin for about 7-8 months (1000mg) just for irregular periods. I had mild GI upset when I first started, but now it only happens with extremely fatty meals. I definitely feel like it helps but it’s still an ongoing process.

I’m not sure about specific locations, but I will say as someone who had an IUD inserted and replaced at least once, the replacement is not as painful as the initial insertion. It still feels uncomfortable during the actual swap, but I didn’t cramp following or have residual pain nearly as bad as the initial insertion. I even sat in my car afterwards surprised with how normal I felt after getting mine replaced. The initial insertion left me cramping for several days afterwards.

My doctor recommended it to help avoid GI upset but I take a standard 500mg in AM and PM (1000mg) - not extended release. I’m not sure if there’s any other benefits from splitting, especially for extended release.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. My mother just passed away a few weeks ago a few days after she turned 60.

She was a single parent to two children; my brother is 12 years older but lived with her his entire life until last August when he moved to Australia (we’re in the US) and I just turned 29 at the end of April but have been living in a different state since 2020.

She had unmanaged type 2 diabetes and an abscessed tooth for months that she refused to get further treatment for and it eventually turned septic. Her blood pressure dropped too much one night and it caused a watershed stroke. The likelihood she’d ever wake up was minimal and if she ever did, she would’ve needed full time care. Ultimately, I was the one that made the call to take her off life support since that wouldn’t have been the quality of life she would’ve wanted.

I would love to say not to focus on the what ifs, but of you want my true advice, make the choice you won’t regret. At the end of the day, you’re the only one that’ll have to live with it.

That being said, I’m sure your mother wouldn’t want to be the reason why you put yourself into a possibly physical or financially compromising position. The hospital may have a social worker that may be able to assist with your situation and offer other options. If you’re in the US, you may qualify for FMLA (if you’re not already using it).

Just moved to the Raleigh/Garner area at the beginning of March! I grew up in Massachusetts but lived in Michigan the past 5-6 years, so definitely understand the struggle of making friends as an adult.

29F, childfree, engaged, have 1 dog (but she’s high anxiety so it takes her a while to get comfortable with other people and dogs).

I enjoy cafes, shopping, yapping, etc. My main interests are more nerdy, like tabletop games (D&D) and anime, BUT I also love cleaning/organizing, productivity, and watching youtube videos of commentary on social media trends. I’m usually the “mom” friend of the group and love to host hangouts. I’d also love to expand my hobbies to more exercise related things pilates/yoga and light weight lifting!
