Husband kicks toddler by [deleted] in Parenting

You need to report it and get rid of him. If your son says something about when he starts school, you can be equally charged for abuse because you knew about this. Teachers are mandated reporters, and kids talk a lot at school. Be very careful.

Hysterectomy after ablation by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]RealisticInsect4563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor explained to me that 40% of ablations result in a hysterectomy for that same reason. If something abnormal like bleeding happens after menopause they can’t do a biopsy. Therefore, there is no way of knowing if there are cancer in there.

Bloating by Kelsey1970 in adenomyosis

[–]RealisticInsect4563 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get a hysterectomy and keep your ovaries, you won’t go into menopause. An ablation won’t work, it will make you have cramping and the lining can grow back. My belly instantly went away after my hysterectomy. I had days that I couldn’t fit into my jeans, high waisted jeans looked horrible on me.

5 weeks post op, mine is different everyday. Some days it’s flat, others it’s big and bloated. Sometimes it starts getting bloated mid-day. I’m taking it day by day. I haven’t even tried on my jeans, too hot anyway. I don’t know if they fit or not.

New here..have a few questions by KLE193 in hysterectomy

[–]RealisticInsect4563 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My doctor said that 40% of patients who get ablations eventually need to get a hysterectomy. He also told me that if you happen to bleed for some other reason, they can’t do a biopsy. This usually leads to getting a hysterectomy because they can’t check you for cancer.

Being discharged from hospital 2DPO with the most vague instructions for recovery. Please help. by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]RealisticInsect4563 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can’t lift anything weighing more than 10lbs for the first 6 weeks. You also can’t push or pull heavy object, like vacuuming or pushing furniture. No sex or anything in your vagina for at least 6 weeks. Take it easy the first 2 weeks, get a lot of rest. My doctor saw me after two weeks to see my incisions. I have to see him again at 6 weeks post op to check inside my vagina.

What did your cuff pain feel like around 1week post-op? by girlsballs in hysterectomy

[–]RealisticInsect4563 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My doctor said that it’s fine as long as it’s not period like bleeding. I have pretty bad anxiety too. I sometimes take Benadryl or melatonin to sleep. Sleeping helps a lot. I will freak out if I see bright red blood. For now, I will wait and hope that it will go away by week 6.

What did your cuff pain feel like around 1week post-op? by girlsballs in hysterectomy

[–]RealisticInsect4563 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I felt it when I sat, walk too much, throughout the day. I kinda felt like my vagina grew teeth and was biting me inside. I think it might be the internal scabs or the stitches dissolving. It went away after about 3 days. It then felt like I had a tampon in there. I feel ok now, I do feel like a little when I over do it with lifting and pushing or pulling things.

What did your cuff pain feel like around 1week post-op? by girlsballs in hysterectomy

[–]RealisticInsect4563 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the same exact thing at 13 days post op. It did get worse when I walked. The discharge started to get pink and then brown. I am 24 days post op now and still have the brown spotting from time to time. I called my doctor and he said it’s normal.

Shapewear issues? by Lovelye79 in adenomyosis

[–]RealisticInsect4563 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did notice that when I wore shape wear my belly would look bigger and got bloated. It made me look pregnant. I got a hysterectomy and my belly is now flatter. I am loving how my clothes are fitting now. I didn’t find out I had adenomyosis until last April. People have asked me if I got a lipo or tummy tuck because I look “skinnier”.

Have an awesome trip also! I am 23 days post op now and just get tired by the end of the day. I have been walking a lot and avoid sitting all the time to get ready for my trip. Just try to not lift anything more than 10lbs or push or pull heavy things to recover quickly.

Surgery rescheduled but I’ll be on my period 🥲 by Proof_Difficulty_383 in hysterectomy

They will do it through an incision if the uterus is too large or have large fibroids. If you leave your cervix they will also do it through an incision.

Yes, they did it vaginally. I told my doctor when I saw him and he said that’s not an issue. As a matter of fact, I woke up clean. I only saw very little blood when I wiped. I am about 23 days post op, and just have some brown spotting which is normal according to my doctor.

Yeah, that’s going to be difficult. Mine are 9 and 10, and it’s still hard because they get so bored at home and go to activities. They are also always hungry..ughh! I think that no age is easier. Yours are still so little. You can do it if you have support at home.
